That’s going to be your response from now on whenever anyone points out you say something wildly wrong? Is it that you think being so dumb makes you a victim and anyone pointing that out is persecuting you? There would be some merit to that, but I have complete faith in your defense mechanisms and am not worried that anything gets though.

I’ll take your word for it. Admittedly I didn’t follow any of that drama all that closely, it all seemed ridiculous to me. My general impression was that the level of modding was what was at the core of the dispute. Some people, like you, wanted far less modding (or none) and others disagreed or thought the level of modding was fine. There was a lot of personal feuds involved, too. I have a hard time understanding why people get so worked up about it (one way or another) that it got to that point. I’m probably weird in that way, though.

You aren’t treated poorly because of your views. You are treated poorly because you are generally not pleasant to be around and not particularly nice or respectful to people yourself. Acting like a victim in all this completely ignores that you have instigated most of it yourself.

Very little of the rancor here comes from any actual political dispute, as far as I can tell. It’s all nonstop whining about the site’s moderation policies.The Simp/RF issue was the closest I can think of to what you’re describing.

I’d also note that you can also be “generally not pleasant to be around”, yet get treated very differently from the same group.
It’s related, because objecting to a particular permaban had something to do with the group coming together.

Can I get a high level overview of the distinction between Unstuck Politics, SPE and NMNM communities? What are the defining characteristics, who are the thought leaders, which one has the smartest, funniest, tallest posters etc?

it’s partly that, but mainly why people let it get to that level such that permabans are involved.
I’m confused, because I don’t see assholes everywhere I go though. Even only on UP, I don’t see assholes everywhere. I enjoy posting on UP bud, I’m not here out of some masochistic need or to troll people I don’t like.
Sabo was eccentric and Chad can be childish and fascists love order and will not tolerate those things. If there’s one thing this site cannot tolerate, it’s someone who’s a little different. Riverman cruelly abusing spacemanbryce was like the boiled down essence of this faction of the site.
