About Moderation (old original thread)

I think people should be allowed to react to ideas with scorn and ridicule. If people determine that they can’t win because a lot of other people disagree with them and decide to leave because of it, that’s on them. That’s not being chased away.

I’m really opposed to anything that involves choosing between one or the other.

Like I’ve always said, NBZ is this forum’s voice of reason!

I haven’t checked up on 2+2 much since it was bought but I’m fairly sure you can still search for old posts so it’s not necessary to rely on one’s memory. July 2016 isn’t even 6 years ago yet.

And yet the drama they’re mad about is older than that

In your own words, can you describe what the drama is and who is mad at it?

  1. Nope
  2. People who’ve said they’re mad about it

Alright. I always had the impression there were more issues than the ones I raised, but never knew what those were.

I didn’t see people say they were mad and was hoping you had receipts or at least some names

I’ve just given two names. Again, it’s mostly half remembered bullshit and it clearly made a larger impression on others than me. I’m not going to speak for them or go back and read their posts from months ago. What’s remembered is also different than what happened, and that’s true for everyone.

The biggest thing though is that I really don’t care, and find it super odd that some people do.

Oh. I didn’t think micro or JT said they were mad

Every post I saw was about Trayvon, saw nothing else brought up but its gross to re litigate.

There was trans stuff too IIRC

I would prefer if no one gets banned or punished for anything they did on 2+2, not even Sklansky or Kelhus, because that just opens the door to endless relitigation.

Not having a clear rule that everyone gets to start with a clean slate just encourages posters with grudges to think that their complaints about others can carry over to here.

Is there any way someone can forcefully disagree with you without making you feel hated and disrespected?

Shocker… this thread has once again turned into a cesspool.

Not to relitigate but my thing was always that people have a right to know if someone is the same person they interacted with in the past, especially because anyone should be able to make a decision for themselves on whether a space is safe for them. Actively saying we should prohibit the usage of a person’s past name just felt really gross to me.

I remember people being like “how can you sit here with a straight face and expect us to believe you don’t feel anger and hate towards ikes” but I just chalked that up to another example of me being very bad at communicating.

FWIW in July I have a couple appointments for some real diagnostic analysis, there’s stuff I and some previous doctors believe may be ASD or something. Could explain my bewilderment at how people read me so fucking often.

I’m sorry if I have the wrong person here, but didn’t you ask for us all to stop using your previous screen name?

Do people have a right to create a safe space for themselves by preserving their anonymity? Surely, you can understand that some people might want a wall of separation between different identities.

People should not be required to share more than they wish here. (But lol on people who overshare and get wrecked.)

AQ can correct me if I’m wrong but I believe the main reason for the name change was personal information tied to the account which could dox him?

Which is completely valid and I respect it, but it seems like guys like NBZ and CN deserve the same courtesy? fwiw, I think Ikes got doxxed once or twice on 22.

I’m sorry dude but this is 100% crybully bullshit and frankly you know why. I remember exactly what your reaction was when someone reached out to you about keeping a space safe. You didn’t give a shit, and were obviously using the fact to troll and nothing more.
