Well there you have it. Where does micro go for his apology?
Should micro seek an apology?
@discobot fortune
Very doubtful
Looks like we finally found an impartial moderation tool.
Should CaffeineNeeded get a temp ban for his posting?
@discobot fortune
As I see it, yes
I mostly ignore people who post a lot and whose posting I don’t like. If you posted in other threads there’s a fair chance I’d like your post, but I don’t particularly care for your posts ITT.
No, I don’t see my tone towards you as constructive - I’m fully aware it isn’t. I don’t see myself as particularly abrasive or unconstructive when posting in general, but I’ll admit your posting is a bit triggering. Mostly because of the only posting in this thread thing.
I didn’t mean to imply any such thing, it was only to inform you that I have only have vague clues about who did what back in the day. If you asked me to name people who posted before who now stick to NMNM I would be hard pressed to come up with many, if any, names.
I do not understand why someone would go to an online discussion forum and then participate in a discussion they find interesting.
Or those who participate in discussions while adding nothing worthwhile
Maybe it’s time to approve new accounts or require them to be 7 days old to post a new thread?
But then how will you get your sockpuppet accounts made? ![]()
All joking aside, I agree with you on the first bit. The second bit just makes their spam into comments in other threads rather than topics.
I don’t make sock puppet accounts.
the fake sock puppet accounts are so weird dude energy I don’t get it.
Surprisingly a few of these spambots were already a few days old before they unleashed their amazing offers on us so I don’t know that a waiting period will help.
I’ve been checking the new users list and just deleting any that have multiple registered from the same IP but there are at least 3 that look like they’re spambots waiting to post the same lame ass casino offers.
It does seem like the community flagging the accounts is working fairly well, there was one yesterday that had its thread automatically hidden because it was reported enough to do that.
That’s good to know. I saw one this morning and wasn’t sure if reporting would help or if you all get flooded with redundant report requests.
Reporting is definitely helpful. When I see it I just go delete the account and ip ban/e-mail address ban it. Not that any of that extra stuff helps but it feels good at least.
The one today got reported by 5 or 6 people almost immediately but I only saw 1 report flag and the notifications disappear once you nuke the account so don’t worry about bugging us with reports.
Higher trust level people flagging a post hides it faster, too, so the more of you that flag this junk the faster it gets automatically hidden.
I tried to engage them as a new member of the community.
Yes, as others have said, please flag. We don’t get that many flags (please don’t make me regret that comment) and multiple flags on the same post/user are very easy to deal with.
