Also, something I’ve lobbied for before…I think rotating mods is very important. At some point I will start trying to recruit people to run for modship.
Ok my community feedback is that I’m really fucking sick of NBZ posting edgelord takes after being warned 100 times, and I’m even sicker of people pretending like Cuse is the gestapo for banning someone from posting on here for two days.
One of the funniest parts of this whole debacle is the absence of NBZ in this thread. He has been expecting a ban the whole time. He knows he is advocating violence and has specifically said so.
This is ikestoys-grade effective trolling.
This x10000.
+1. People can disagree about this stuff without it even being a big deal at all.
This is such an important point.
We all need to stop acting like disagreement is some kind of poison for the community. Healthy disagreement is good. We are more than 300 people. We are not going to agree all the time. As long as disagreements are respectful and fruitful then there is no harm.
Yup…

Has NBZ been permabanned yet?
If not, make a move. Don’t yank his chain. Either commit to something or don’t.
Sounds like a good lesson for a certain mod.
Why bother having votes if the results are subsequently ignored?
While the bolded is certainly true, it can be made a condition of moderation that a community decision should be the one ultimately adhered to. If this is contrary to the mod’s beliefs then it would be incumbent on them to decide if they want to remain a mod.
And I agree that we’re all figuring this out as we’re going along
If he gets permed for anything he’s posted to date, then please can an admin nuke my account at the same time?
I can play drama queen too.
I know you think this is somehow leverage to get your way but it really just says you have no desire to be part of a community decision process whereby you will not always get your way, by design.
It’s like saying my side lost the election so I’m giving up my citizenship.
Can you please not?
It’s no different than taking a vote and ignoring the results.
To be fair maybe I’m not following this whole saga close enough.
There was vote if he should be banned and it came out no? Did cuse then ban him anyway? I thought he was temp banned again after for a separate post?

One mistake with this is that you and others seem to think that any vote, with any number of participants is valid until the end of time with 51% of the vote.
This is why we are working on rules in the other thread. It isn’t just LISTEN TO THE COMMUNITY vs. IGNORE THE COMMUNITY. The point we are trying to hash out is what it means to listen to the community.
For instance, I don’t think we need majority rule to ban racial slurs. Some things need to listen to minority positions more closely than others. You don’t get to claim “voice of the community” until we have determined what this voice sounds like in different situations.
He was later temp banned after more posts.
