I posted this in the stonks thread shortly before it got closed, but I think it deserves it’s own thread.
This is a video from Innuendo Studios. If you haven’t heard of him he did a fantastic video series during the rise of Trump about the alt-right, their playbook, and ways to combat it.
Here he takes a look at 90s nostalgia and why we who grew up during that time are so enamored with it. About how the politics of the age post Gen-X have led to the despair of the gig economy and the directionlessness of our current circumstances.
I felt that we could get some discussion from this, specifically around the possible solutions to the problems that come up in the video. The graph of created wealth (which I think many of us have seen quite a bit) is still nauseating, and the question of how we fix it is an important one.
For a society that’s as close as we have ever been to post scarcity, the despair of the youngest generations are palpable, and there has to be a way to fix it. I just dont know what those solutions are.
