I won’t fight the rest of the list. All the bias, but I still have Beshear as a legit president shot. Governor of a blood red state who actually ran on reproduction rights and won.
I don’t know what you’re talking about. I’ve already predicted several times that Talarico is going to lose. I’ll be very happy to be wrong on that.
Texas is unwinnable for a D. We can build a time machine and transport LBJ to 2026. He ain’t winning either. And his winning was in a much easier environment than today. A Boston librul took Texas. It wasn’t that hard.
Beshear checks all of my boxes for successful D candidate. Kelly does too and I like him a bit better. I like either if they get through a primary. That’s the hard part.
Living here I have become numb to it, but whenever I stop and assess I can still be amazed how many trucks are on the road. I feel like lifted trucks in Texas are as common as trucks are in other parts of the country.
come on dude that was fucking 400 years ago
Correct. But the topic was “made in a lab Texas candidate” and the offer was lol Talarico.
this is the second time you’ve explicitly decide to omit the “D” from the “perfect D candidate”
and it’s understood that it’s not “going back to the stone ages” but rather for today’s political environment.
you’re being deliberately obtuse and it’s not cute or entertaining
Literally didn’t mean to omit “D” as we are specifically discussing D candidates. But he is basically replacement level D Texas Candidate and will lose just like Beto in a much more favorable environment.
LOL
Beto sucked and lost by two points in a worse climate for Dems than 2026.
Replacement level is kind. Talarico will lose by 6+ points.
Texas is a shithole populated by morons. Winning an election there is impossible for a good and honest person.
I unironically love the irony of the Texas/California rivalry. Hate to break it to you, but they pretty much the same place.
Never been?
Yes, I’ve been there.
Lol no. Orange idiot won Texas by 14 points and lost California by 20.
The only place I’ve spent any time in in Texas is Austin, which is their one small city that isn’t completely full of morons.
Tell me every part you’ve been.
I remember when I went to college in Boston a lot of people said Texas sucked. I lived there my whole life so I obviously wasn’t objective. They said really pay attention when you go back. When I got back from Thanksgiving break I said Texas did suck. It’s so flat and boring looking, not that Boston was any less flat. But at least there was significant weather other than boring drab rain and irritatingly bone clear sky.
I basically never thought Texas appealing after that (90s and beyond), but have a long term project that began in 2018 that meant I better get used to it. I found it much more appealing that time around and there are a couple of restaurants I’d frequent often if I lived there.
There’s no doubt LA is my favorite place I’ve lived by a mile but I don’t have any of the same attachment when I go back.
There are lots of morons in Texas but it’s also produced some of the most brilliant people I’ve ever met. It’s quite a trade off. I think Texas gets a much worse rap than it deserves because very little of what people say about it is worn on people’s sleeves at least where I’m from. If I could live in the right place (a downtown Fort Worth high rise), I’d consider living there again if the conditions were needed to do so.
Oh, and I’ve been to Austin once when we dropped my sister off at college when I was maybe 15. I didn’t like the way it looked at all even though I later heard it was one of the most beautiful parts of Texas.
I meant this more broadly than political valence, but it is worth pointing out that both states are neck in neck in the race to have the most Trump voters. Also the two states that have done the most to incubate the modern right, as I am sure you know. You will have to do better then that
California used to be better than Texas, but then all the best people from California moved to Texas like Joe Rogan and Elon Musk
