2025 NFL Gameday Thread: Super Bowl LX-Sam Darnold faces the Ghosts Like They Weren't Even There

Man do I hate shotgun on 4th and 1, but JSN is unreal

I am gonna get a second choke job, huh?

Why are there plays going to anyone other than JSN at this point?

Did the Texans get an extra down there? I counted the incompletion short far side, incompletion deep far side, and then two incompletions deep near side. Then punt.

Geez, I also hate all these second and 10 runs up the middle, but the Texans seem to be really, really bad at defending them.

Oh Jobe, that was 6.

Jobe shoulda had another one.

That was…not smart to kick a returnable ball there, even if for some reason you don’t think you need to onside kick.

My God some coaches are just super dumb. 2:04 you kick in bounds to allow a return under 2:00. Just flushed 40 seconds down the toilet. How do 9 year olds playing Madden know more than Demeco Ryans? You must be fired for that immediately.

But that foul was somehow even stupider.

Very stupid but I think I can argue that maybe getting the ball back at 1:10 would have provided more win ev than definitely getting it back at 0:20.

At least the fat guy was trying to play football. How many millions in payroll dollars does it take to find one person who won’t screw up the simplest game management scenarios?

Current NFC playoff picture:

  1. Green Bay Packers (4-1-1)
  2. San Francisco 49ers (5-2, wins over SEA & LAR, 5-1 NFC)
  3. Philadelphia Eagles (5-2, 4-1 NFC, win over TB)
  4. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (5-2, 3-2 NFC, loss to PHI)
  5. Detroit Lions (5-2, 2-1 NFC)
  6. Seattle Seahawks (5-2, 1-1 NFCW, 2-2 NFC)
  7. Los Angeles Rams (5-2, 0-1 NFCW)
  8. Chicago Bears (4-2, 3-2 NFC)
  9. Carolina Panthers (4-3)
  10. Dallas Cowboys (3-3-1, 2-3-1 NFC)
  11. Atlanta Falcons (3-3, 2-3 NFC, win over MIN)
  12. Minnesota Vikings (3-3, 1-2 NFC, loss to ATL)
  13. Washington Commanders (3-4)
  14. Arizona Cardinals (2-5)
  15. New York Giants (2-5)
  16. New Orleans Saints (1-6)

Obviously, my declaration of the Cards as contenders was dependent on Kyler’s health, and without that, they’re basically toast. I don’t really believe the Bears are that good, but they have some very winnable games coming up (@Ravens (lol that this now looks so winnable when it looked so rough a month ago), @Bungles, vs. Giants, @Vikings, vs. Stealers). They’re looking a lot better to lose in the first round of the playoffs if the NFCW clobbers some of its wild card representation out of the playoffs. I definitely don’t believe in the Panthers, and they may only be favored vs. Saints and maybe @Saints for the rest of the season, so their current status looks like a mirage. Washington is in big trouble if Daniels misses time, but it sounds like he’ll be back. Still, they’ve struggled more than I thought they would. They, like the Vikings, could still make the playoffs, but they’ll need some runhot. I can’t say I really believe in the Falcons. If they can’t take care of the wounded Niners, I don’t think they playoff.

Demeco says the plan was to kick it OOB and his kicker failed. Good job taking responsibility, coach.

We aren’t. If we were playing the chiefs that INT is a catch for the chiefs and that first down remains a first down

This isn’t difficult.

I’ll give him credit if he does it sober

Coaching interviews during live play are the nut low.

Why is Minnesota trying to kill Carson Wentz?
