I guess that context about it being a possible additional debate is useful. She certainly hasn’t agreed to anything like that yet, so litigating rules for that is perfectly fair game. And making it an issue now prevents the appearance of it potentially looking like a reaction to a debate they feel didn’t go well if they only brought it up later.
I think the dems are waiting for it for 10 years already. Not saying the N-word in public is like the one thing Trump is good at. I would have def lose a bet 10 years ago about him letting one slip sometimes in the next decade.
From my limited time spent in nursing homes it’s at least clear there is some trend towards people spouting more insane slur ridden stuff as they get older. While Trump has been pretty good about not crossing any lines that seem to matter in the last 10 years, there is at least some possibility that in his advanced age he starts slipping a bit.
Everything he says is somewhat unhinged but I think even for him there’s a point where we might say “wow, didn’t expect that to come out of his mouth.”
It’s also possible that he can do it and it won’t hurt him, and may help him, so who the fuck knows.
