What even is defense?
Lions defense wAs good until like 4 pro bowlerw got hurt.
Seriously their decision to kick an xp up by 12 with 3 minutes left has to be one of Campbell’s dumbest decisions unless I’m missing something.
I was in the rest the starters camp, but the the Camp(bell) that counts is coach Dan, so it’s full power all the way.
As I also root for the Eagles (but not conflicted, Lions all the way), my brain says they should not go for the rushing record for Saquon, but my Lion Heart says the Eagles should risk injuries.
He might have had one of those paranoid moments where he’s like “how much would it suck after surviving this game with no injuries, if I put the offense out there for one more play and Goff tore up his knee or something”, lol.
Or in that same line of thinking, maybe he wanted zero chance of the game going to OT and having to decide whether to push his luck.

Going for two and having Goff throw it away would’ve been the play then to keep it at 12 vs. 13.

Campbell certainly has a lot of good qualities for an NFL coach. Being good at calculating probabilities or even simple arithmetic is not one of them. To be fair, that’s true of a lot of coaches, which is why Campbell can still be an above average coach with this impediment.
I mean my first theory would be a purely emotional reaction from him, so the opposite of sanewashing really.

That was my understanding too, so why did they play their starters at all? Week 18 vs Minny is the game they need regardless of yesterday’s outcome.
