Worst part IIRC is that there was like :02 on the clock when Dolphins finally recovered. If clock had expired it wouldn’t even have mattered, but no such luck.
That dolphins team was 9-2 after that game and lost every game after that and missed the playoffs.
The cowboys won every game after that.
Didn’t hurt them too bad.

I was in Vegas during that weekend and some friends went to the game (we’re all Vikings fans). So glad I decided not to go.

Yea it’s a dumb move. Not only will no team sign him, he’ll never coach or be a tv analyst. Maybe he doesn’t want to do any of those things, but you burning more than 1 bridge by quitting in the middle of a game.
