Cult is hard to define for the purposes of this discussion. But if it were knowable, I’d be interested in which number is greater: # of people with Hillary tattoos or # of people with Trump tattoos. And by how much. Even that is tough to do cleanly as we would have to define what counts (e.g. does a tattoo that just says “MAGA” count?)
I suspect that right now Trump > Hilary. I doubt there would be too many who would bet against that.
In Nov 2016, I’m not sure what the answer would have been. I’d still think Trump, but I’m not as certain.
Do people here actually think that the following Hillary Clinton commands is in any way close in size and intensity to the following that Trump commands? Wtf, yall?
In 2016 I bought an official campaign tshirt that said something like “If voting for Hillary is ‘playing the woman’ card than deal me in!” and I wore it to a casino to play 2/3nl during the DNC Convention on the night she gave the headlining speech.
A guy died drinking aquarium cleaning products because Trump told him to, but on the other hand I saw some Hillary lawn signs that were very cringe. So it’s hard to say which side is more cult-like.
During that call, the guy asked if I had any concerns, comments, etc. about our service and I said cost. He ended up repackaging my internet to save me a couple bucks a month. That new package comes with an XFi Gateway - the modem/router combo. I don’t need it, but if it’s included for a slightly lower price and the same speed and everything, then fine, I can throw it in the closet. I think I’m renting the device in this plan, but I’m getting unlimited data for free, as opposed to the $30/month I’ve been paying, so they effectively cancel each other out.
I was curious this morning and called back to ask which model number they were sending. After we got through that part of the conversation, the guy tried to upsell me on a faster speed. We have 500 Mbps now, which is more than enough - my current router only goes up to 300. Streaming and gaming have been totally fine. I said I didn’t want to pay more and he said he could get me gig speeds for the same price.
I thought that was weird as fuck. I declined. Smelled like a trap.
EDIT: When he asked who he had the pleasure of speaking with and I told him my name, he said I have a beautiful name. It’s literally a bog standard American male name.
we’re over 2 months post election and a bunch of houses in my neighborhood are keeping their trump lawns signs and trump flags up.
there’s one house left that still has antitrump stuff. leading up to the election, these two houses right next to each other were both LOADED with opposing political signage. it was like two parade floats that don’t go anywhere. it was so cringe i would hate living in that neighborhood, i think i would move away solely based on that. one house would have handwritten signs like, “TRUMP IS A RAPIST” and the house next door would have a huge “WOMEN FOR TRUMP” flag. it’s january and the anti-trump house still has multiple handwritten signs, i guess they pulled back a few, from the peak. the pro trump house next door pulled back a little bit, while still displaying, maybe a proportionate amount to their neighbor. it’s like a cold war, decorating their houses against each other
Yeah let’s not do the false equivalence thing that the right does, where they find one example of some fringe Democrat bitching about election fraud when Trump won, and claim that it’s 100% equal and opposite to Trump blasting about his stolen election for four years to his base who believes every word that comes out of his mouth.
not a bunch around here but my neighbor still has his signs and yes I’m looking at moving somewhere else after winter.
The neighbor cold war is funny tho.
The only opposing sign still up last I knew is the one that some genius changed to harry ballz pre election. I don’t know if the occupant is still there or not guessing not.
If we a speaking explicitly about tattoos, I wouldn’t be surprised if more people have Hillary tattoos. I don’t think that says much bout her following, though. If I had to guess, I’d expect people on the liberal end of the spectrum to be more inclined to get tattoos generally. I know at least one person who got some form of tattoo to mark the occasion because they volunteered for her or voted for her. The person I knew didn’t get a tattoo of her face, though. I think it was the date she voted or something like that.
This seems like not a great preview of what’s to come
Video recorded by Ernesto Campos, a United States citizen, shows federal immigration agents detaining him after slashing his tires.
“I don’t know why he popped my tires, he already had my …,” says Ernesto Campos in the video.
“He had a reason,” answers an agent.
…
In the video, Campos tells his coworker Isaias Alejandro to roll down the window, which he does.
“What’s the problem,” asked Campos.
“OK, I’m going to have to break your window, do you understand?” said the agent. “It’s your fault. I’m going to have to break the window if you do not open it.”
It’s the USS George H. W. Bush. After the WWII naval aviator and 41st president.
"I am proud to announce that the next two Gerald R. Ford-class nuclear-powered aircraft carriers will be named for two former presidents: Bill Clinton and George W. Bush. "
Very dumb if the left gets worked up over this. Just wait for the backlash from the right for the USS Barack Obama.
