Bald plus braces is an interesting dilemma. I’m betting on bald and ignoring the braces.

Not sure where to put this, but if you are using Honey to “save money” you should immediately stop and remove the extension. It screws creators but also often doesn’t even get you the best deal.

Don’t know if anyone posted the original video expose, but it’s quite good and definitely worth a watch.

I have little confidence in LegalEagle vs Honey/PayPal’s lawyers, but the situation has attracted the attention of big guns that specialize in such cases and who will call the shots. I wouldn’t want to be in Honey’s shoes–the bad PR may kill them before the legal fight does.

Looks like Musk, Thiel and the PayPal Mafia established a great culture at PayPal: lie, cheat, and steal.

I never installed it thinking this is exactly what it was and would have been shocked if it wasn’t a scam.

I’m surprised PayPal would offer a straight up scam. I sort of get stealing affiliate links as that’s a soft fraud and may be legal, but claiming to find the best deal, and then partnering with stores to explicitly not do that is just hard fraud.

I’m obv not the lawyer here but I would never burn a Pikachu emoji on PayPal outright scamming even with a fresh supply for 2025.

The least surprising thing ever would be MegaLag et al. getting crushed by frivolous defamation suits and zero legal repercussions for the scammers.

That looks to possibly be the current trajectory of Jake Paul vs coffezilla. Thing is, PayPal has deep pockets and Honey screwed over a lot of profitable people. Even if they settle the class action for a billion, many will opt out of the class and the legal claims will not go away. PayPal in a very bad spot currently.

There is a small town I drive through somewhat frequently. According to wikipedia, it’s 0.8 sq mi and 1500 people. It has 1 stop light. Every time as I drive into this town, I lose cell signal, and as I drive out the other end I regain it. I don’t normally have the radio on in my car, I usually have my phone connected if anything, but today I had the radio on. As I drive into the town, the radio goes to static, as I drive out the other end, it comes back. What the hell is going on in this town? Does someone in this town have some sort of jamming device?

That reminds me of something I’m curious how people would choose.

My wife recently told me of a friend who had hernia surgery years ago. It was botched or got fucked up or something, so he had another (I think it might have been a couple years later, but no matter).

There was a class-action suit because I guess his wasn’t an isolated case and he recently found out he was awarded $25,000, half of which will go to the lawyers, so he has $12,500 in hand.

He has the option to opt-out and sue on his own. From what he has been told, some people have won their individual cases and gotten as much as $300,000, but there is at least one instance of someone getting nothing.

What would you do? I suppose it might depend on everyone’s financial situation. I believe the current amount is a big deal to him, so he stood pat and didn’t risk ruin.

At least talk to a PI lawyer and get their take. If you can find a reputable lawyer willing to take the case, I’d probably roll the dice as they get nothing unless you win. Most likely they lawyer will push for a quick settlement, but still should likely get more (although possible the company is not settling these individual cases to discourage opt outs).

Other question is how much damages he suffered. If it just required a new surgery with no current medical issues, the value of opting out is likely much less. I’d want to know if they people who won the $300k had extra issues.

Is this in Florida? If so, I can put you in touch with a reputable PI attorney who may be able to help you make a decision on this.
