what looks like phishing here? it’s a png attachment, it should be displayed inline by your mail reader.

BTW, the research indicates it’s basically a tiny fraction of the dumbest users that cause almost all of the phishing/malware incidents

Those are the worse charts ever.

what’s bad about them? 1% of users = 92.4% of problems. Pretty straightforward.

I’ve had a bagel from there

Here’s the phishing test they sent out last year. I really don’t feel like trying to figure out if the email is internal or external (no idea if our company indicates that) or looking at the attachment extension (maybe it’s truncated or something). Much easier to just never open a stupid holiday card.

On this subject, I didn’t get a bonus last year, didn’t expect a bonus this year, but I got an email (legit, from HR, nothing to click) saying a bonus check had been deposited. My company can be super stingy in many cases so I expected like $500. I checked my account and it was far less. As a percentage of my annual income it was 0.15%. Am I correct in being more upset over this than if they hadn’t given me anything?

yeah there’s no way I’m clicking on that even if god came down from heaven and told me it is 100% safe, zero upside

I was curious and I don’t know what Larry saw in his video. They might have been other stars, but seemed to be flashing more than twinkling. They might have been planes or drones. You can’t tell what is moving if anything because he won’t hold his phone still. But that image there is like a less than one second clip from a two minute video. It’s not what he was looking at.

Manley likes to joke around. He might have explained on X but I wouldn’t know. My guess about these drones is it’s Elon proving his point about cancelling the F-35 or whatever.

Yes. Scrooge never got phished.

Why does Gemini have its own phone number?

Idk if legit but it seems like a great scam idea.

Edit: Legitimate according to reddit. Just looks suspicious. Gemini itself doesn’t know though.

You are correct.

Back when I was a carpenter I was finishing up a commercial project, building a Booster Juice or something, that had a very hard deadline with big penalties if we were late. I was working 20 hour days for 2 weeks in order to finish in time to make the deadline. The day before the deadline was our company christmas party, and I had to work through it. The company owner stopped in on his way to the party to thank me and said, “Don’t worry, there’ll be a little extra on your christmas bonus for this.” This implied that: A) there would be Christmas bonuses, and b) mine should be substantial-ish.

The following Friday he called everyone to the office to pick up their pay and bonuses. I open my cheque, and it is my regular amount, and go to leave. He says, “Don’t forget your bonus!” and hands me a tin of flavoured coffee. “Merry Christmas!” he says as I walk out.

I never returned.

I just never click any link in my work email unless it came from someone internal I personally know.
