I was thinking about the joke, “you cant get there from here,” and where those words might really apply.
As i get older my near vision is now worthless. So I hold things farther out to read them, but at a certain point the object is in focus but too far for me to read.

FYI: I just renewed my passport online. It took one week from the day I applied to the day it arrived. I did NOT pay extra for expedited service.

a local tragedy
I often marvel at airplane technology, where a bird can cause a fire and complete loss of an engine on takeoff, but that the aircraft has enough redundancy in place that an emergency landing can be made fairly routinely.
That said, these incidents are not without their harrowing aspects:

We have a bagel shop/deli near my house that’s very similar. No website, no marketing, only accepts cash, isn’t open for dinner, but is always packed. We had them cater my son’s Bar Mitzvah luncheon.

You should be lifting weights if you’re not. (Not trying to get on your ass, trying to look out for you. Can get good improvement in stability and ability to absorb impact. Has been good for me.)
Thanks, I realize that’s good advice, generally. I hate lifting so haven’t in the last several months. I won’t be able to for a few weeks but will after that. I don’t clearly remember what happened so it’s hard to say if it would have helped much in this instance.
