That is nice. If I knew where it came from I would just eat it but I have no idea. Maybe paranoia from too much Trump or whatever.
Yeah. I would have the same reaction. Your situation is a little different.
Need some help from the Southie locals in LA.
We went to Disneyland about 8 yeara ago, and one night we took a drive to Pasadena. Got off the freeway and like the road narrowed and curved and then we were on some big main street. Drove down it for a while and parked in a strip mall type parking lot and then walked back to the main street. On it there was a movie theater and outside the theater there were like 3 restraurants, pretty casual, a ramen place and a burger place.
The burger place had an order board when you came in and some cashiers, the burgers all had funky or LA based names. My son got a chicken and waffles type burger. There was seating behind the cashiers that was like bar seating but facing the grills where the burgers were made.
Its the single best burger I have ever had and I cannot remember the name of the place or find it on a map.
Any ideas?
I have no idea but I asked chat gpt for fun:
Here’s a quick summary of each place:
-
Dog Haus Biergarten – Known for creative, LA-inspired burgers and hot dogs, with casual seating and a fun, beer-garden atmosphere.
-
The Counter – Customizable burger joint on South Lake Avenue, where you build-your-own or choose unique signature options.
-
Umami Burger – Trendy, flavorful burgers with signature umami seasonings and ingredients, sometimes named after LA themes.
-
Slater’s 50/50 – Famous for their half-bacon, half-beef patties and quirky burger combos like chicken and waffles.
-
Grill ‘Em All – Metal-themed, inventive burgers with wild ingredients, originally a food truck, now in nearby Alhambra.
-
Kings Row Gastropub – Gastropub on Colorado Blvd with a laid-back vibe and inventive burger menu, though without grill-facing bar seating.
Did a quick google search and came up with a similar list posted above. This question would probably be quickly answered if posted in a Pasaden subreddit.
Fuck yeah, its Grill em All. Looks like they moved to Long Beach. We sat at the counter and talked with the owner for 20 minutes and she was super cool. Anybody else been?
I welcome our AI overlords
This one came before Rugby’s. Fried Chicken Sandwich FTW.
I’m pretty sure I had already voted, unfortunately.
Ahh, never mind then.
I guess I’ll pour one out for the fried chicken sando
Dammit. I just found it. The problem finding it was that you were in Alhambra, not Pasadena. They did move though.
Ahhhh, how far is alhambra from pasadena?
It borders. eta: well, it borders South Pasadena, which is actually a separate city.
They forgot to set it on fire.
Wasn’t this a “How I Met Your Mother” episode?
Pretty sure this was in the last season of the Lincoln Lawyer ?
The poorly educated deciding the election!
Never seen the show.
