I would have put all my money on it being in Huntington Beach, and then after I lost that I would have thought like Oceanside or something. But it’s in Lake Elsinore, so I guess it’s nice that people can get acai bowls with their meth.

Lots of people in the replies guessed HB. They have locations in Lake Elsinore and Redlands.

OK, well that definitely doesn’t undermine my “acai and meth” contention.

I will say Lake Elsinore has a really nice single-A baseball stadium, they at least used to be owned by Mandalay. My business partner and I used to go to a game there once a year then go play some poker at Pechanga or at a strange cardroom near there I can’t remember the name of.

Since we are talking Inland Empire. I was just invited to apply for a position in Riverside that would be an advancement and more money. Would probably be a 4 year minimum commitment. Am I correct in just dismissing it without much thought? Never been in the area absent driving once from LA to Vegas 25 years ago. Ftr I hate the sun, suburbs, reactionaries and driving. I do like weird places and may be meth-curious?

So, not the Econo Lodge Lake Elsinore Casino?

How do you feel about acai?

Lol, like as not I would pop into that place. Superfoods transcend politics imo.

I don’t really know Riverside very well, but my understanding is that UC Riverside is pretty progressive, as you’d expect. And there’s a hotel there that people really love. I guess it would depend on where you’re coming from. I do know there’s a LOT of what I would consider very cool stuff within a 1-2 hour drive from Riverside. But if you’re sincere about hating sun, then yeah it is not worth any thought at all.

The best thing about that açai place is something like that would only exist in the US or North Korea.

I drove through Riverside on my way to Palm Springs last year. From the highway i basically just saw a bunch of industrial parks and strip malls but the weather would be nice I suppose (but not if you hate the sun).

Also I do want to visit The Cheech at some point.

The crossover between MAGAs and acai bowl eaters has to be pretty minimal. I think they’ll rebrand in a few months to “BernieBowls”.

This is like Mission bbq, but açaí

Riverside has kind of a cool old area (it was incorporated in 1883) that is not what most people think of when they think of Riverside. It’s too hot out there for my liking though.

That’s Kansas City’s own Tech-9’s Chiefs anthem (Red Kingdom).

MAGAs are more soy than soy boys these days.

This describes most of Southern California that isn’t a few miles from the beach.

Suppose it describes a lot of the country. I have absolutely zero southern Californa experience, that was the first time I wasn’t just passing through the airport as a connecting destination.
