This is interesting. A reporter from More Perfect Union, an org that focuses on workers rights and corporate greed, reached out to me about an interview for a story they are doing on my past employer. I’m conflicted. They found me through a subreddit where employees talked about the company. It was nothing I’d be embarrassed to have my name tied to personally, but for my employment sake in this large but somewhat tight knit industry, I’d rather not have a reputation of “guy who talked bad about past employer”.
They said they’d keep me anonymous even though it’d be on video. I kind of want to do it, as I agree with their message.
I like these but or course any time I’m in one i think I’m gonna be trapped inside it forever and archeologists hundreds of years from now will find my skeleton inside and write a paper about how it was some sex kink i was in to
This giant (ugly) 4500 square foot house finished being built below us in August. They listed it for $1.5m, lowered it to $1.3m in September, and just listed it for rent for $6k a month.
I’m no expert but I think you are supposed to be able to withstand a $1.5m home being on the market for more than 2 months. It didn’t look like a big developer. Not great for that guy!
Disappointment with the evolution of technology: Built-in apps on my 10 year old Vizio are slowly dying because the streaming services don’t support them anymore.
Amazement with the evolution of technology: The Roku stick I ordered at 4:30PM will be delivered today between 5-10pm free of charge.
My best friends car got stolen from out front of his fireball while he was asleep on shift and they drove to his house and robbed it while his wife was asleep. Messed up his truck at home trying to hot wire it too. So both vehicles dead or gone. Stole their wallets so now they are scared about identify theft.
I have an old MacBook I use for stuff (12 years old!) and the MagSafe charger finally gave out. I was annoyed the new one won’t be here until Saturday lol. Been spoiled.
Travelling through Australia one of our AirBnb got cancelled last minute. Turns out the previous guests stole all the furniture. Thought AirBnb had gotten better at identity verifications to stop this.
Do you guys think I’ll regret putting the tv above the fireplace? My only other option is between the 2 windows but I don’t love that idea as it will cut off the room with the couch. I feel like the 15ish feet length will minimize TVTOOHIGH, but I’m not sure. Wife really wants it above.
I’m watching a TV above the fireplace as I write this. I know it’s “wrong” for a lot of reasons. But I don’t think it affects my viewing experience and I think that it is the place that aesthetically makes the most sense.
As a compromise, they have contraptions where you press a button on a remote and the TV mount lowers the TV when you want it lower for viewing and then pops it back up for the rest of the time.
