2024 Election POST MORTEM

In 2028, I will only vote for the Democrat candidate willing to take a shit on Donald Trump during the debate. America needs a strong candidate.

You are being very naive if you think this not a possibility. But if you want to put optimistic probabilitys on it, let’s say there’s a 2% chance of a successful national Federal campaign to ban certain vaccinations and a 50% chance the the incidences of preventable childhood diseases is going to increase dramatically because of anti-vaxxers in the Federal government. Am I supposed to do a celebratory dance about that?

We’re definitely on the idiocracy timeline, I’m just not sure where in that 500 years they replaced water with Brawndo. I’m guessing closer to the end. We’re not quite to the point of collapsing of all society over the stupidest of reasons, that’s gonna take some more time.

That’s kind of the point though. The mere existence of anti-vaxxers at the Federal government level will make society riskier for your kid no matter what you do.

I’m naive and proud of it

Anti vaxx is a position Trump had been very sympathetic to in the past. If RFK Jr really gets a serious position in the next administration it’s a scary direction and not that far fetched.

It will be business as usual and everyone close to Trump will eventually be shat on by him and disposed of. RFK and Elon included. At least that will be fun to see.

Riskier for generic kids, absolutely. Riskier for your specific kids, I think, will be up to you (generally speaking).

Inb4 the first ā€œbut obviously the courts will stop himā€ post from the lollawbros who post here.

Blessed and divinely protected, what can you do

Do we even have any of those people anymore? Or if we did, I find it hard to imagine we hear much of this rhetoric going forward.

It’s all the CONSEQUENCES idiots posting as recently as a couple days ago about trump will go to jail.

Obviously he isn’t going anywhere near jail, but what is the deal with his upcoming sentencing. Is it just silently canceled?

IANAL but he probably gets sentenced but the supreme court hands down an emergency injunction effectively vacating and the rest of his legal issues sort of dissipate into the ether.

I think a lot of those were predicated on him actually losing. I don’t recall anyone advocating that he actually faces a single consequences if he shipped this.

That said I was still pretty ā€œlol consequencesā€ even though a couple of you had me thinking he might actually see some jail time if he lost.

Well I mean, union outreach is useless at this point. SC will shortly make unionizing null and void and declare unions unconstitutional

Trump literally said he might ban vaccines, just last week.

I thought Harris would win, but it would be really close, so I’m not shocked that Trump won. I AM shocked that it was such a destruction up and down the ballots.

Obviously there are tons of reasons why it turned out the way it did, but here are my top three:

  1. Inflation/economy: don’t give a shit that the stock market has been up and unemployment has been down, prices HAVE gone up and have gone up in a very noticeable way. Harris/Biden/Dems were fucked here. They never even tried to let everyone know that the entire world had inflation and that the US/Biden admin handled it better than everyone else, probably because they didn’t want to remind voters of inflation. We know that the Biden admin did a good job guiding us through, but most people don’t.

  2. Harris is a woman.

  3. Internet/social media - has infected society, especially young and old people. Internet messaging is controlled by right-wing billionaires. Bullshit is just fed into people’s brains to the point where they think not only is it ok to give one of the worst people on earth a second shot at the presidency, but that’s it’s GREAT. And it’s not just a Trump thing. It’s an overall right-wing, fascism-curious thing. Look at California Prop 6: 5,000,000 people have voted AGAINST banning slavery and forced labor. IN CALIFORNIA.

Extreme conservatism is a worldwide cancer and it’s spreading. It’s not just a US problem.
