2024 Election POST MORTEM

It’s always the fault of the progressives of course! Never the fault of the dipshit grifter consultants.

she also did 2-3% better in WI/MI/PA versus the national swing everywhere else so they did one very good job focusing in the correct areas. Hillary didn’t do that.

The most left places also were the biggest shift to the right so saying she should’ve gone more left wouldn’t have worked either.

Given nobody cared about Trump’s mistakes and hers got eviscerated nothing she could’ve done differently would’ve let her win. Only whitmer or shapiro with a nonzero chance in hindsight of 270-268 and that’s only because midwestern dem gov.

Yes, they made a ton of mistakes but there is no literal perfect campaign.

This election was amazing because it defies any rational explanation or easy fixes. Somehow the Dems got clobbered while anti-abortion bills got shot down. Big gains for Trump among Latino voters after his campaign called Puerto Rico a garbage pile.

I once heard somewhere that the Puerto Ricans are not liked that well by the other Latinos.

why does the candidate’s husband have a senior advisor lol so doug had multiple levels of advisors advising him?

I really don’t know what level this post is on, but people really need to stop thinking of Latinos as a monolithic group. Like, I get that those of us who grew up around racist white people realize that the Stephen Milliers of the world don’t distinguish between Latin people from different countries, but they clearly don’t think of themselves in the same terms.

Also, as I tried to explain at the time of the controversy, there just aren’t that many PR voters. Definitely not many who were changing their vote 2 weeks before the election based off one joke.

To be honest the idea Puerto Ricans were too dumb to understand that Donald was bad for them until the shitty comic made that joke is more offensive than the joke itself.

Never heard that before and honestly it doesn’t make any sense since PR is an island. Maybe you are thinking of DR and Haiti?

Or maybe people are different and embrace different identities and cultures at different times and in different contexts. An English guy might dislike “the Irish” or “the Polish” or “the Germans” even if they are all “white.” Japanese, Chinese, and Korean people can have very strong negative opinions about the other groups even if they are sometimes referred to as “Asian.” Similarly someone from Mexico might share some commonalities with someone from Colombia or Puerto Rico, there is also a ton of potential dividing lines.

just wait til you tell people there are like 50 variations of accents in AAVE you might melt some brains

That stuff is common among regional neighbors. Puerto Rico is an island.

I live in Michigan and want to deport the entire state of Ohio except for the Haitian immigrants. They’re cool.

There’s beef between several of the Caribbean islands for whatever reason.

Japan is an island to China and Korea. The UK is an island to France. Australia and New Zealand are islands to each other. All have regional rivalries and stereotypes about each other…

Also, if we’re talking about within the US, animosities can develop when one group of “white” moves into a neighborhood with other “white” folks. Even assuming that people in Ireland were cool with folks from Italy when they lived in their own countries, when immigrants from those places first got thrown together in Manhattan they started beefing Gangs of New York style.

What, you mean the sex with sheep stuff? Listen, truth is a defence.

I am unfamiliar with this one. Which ones are the sheep fuckers? Aus or NZ?

NZ has more sheep than humans

So does Australia, right?

Weirdly enough I met a couple of Kiwis at a party last week and they were in Aus doing seasonal work as … sheep farmers
