the ceo of a southwestern PA manufacturying company told his employees they won’t be getting their annual christmas bonus because they voted for donald j trump for president. one of the employees raised his hand and said, “i see now that we have all made a grave mistake, voting against our own economic interests. i feel great shame and regret. my family will suffer the consequences of this election.”
“well said young man”, said the ceo, who was albert einstein. he then asked his employee, “now what is your name?”
“i’m adolph hitler” replied the employee

Its a political statement from my side. I only grift Republicans.

The way some of you pile on your own is a fucking joke.

Hopefully you at least cashed in on the incoming facism. That’s what really counts.

The dems are just so bad at everything it’s hilarious. Maybe Biden will refuse to leave and lead an insurrection, ask Harris to not certify the election etc. Im sure in response trump will nominate Tom Perez to “restore public confidence.”

What is the deal with the lines changing directions

Good piece here, agree with most of it. This paragraph is doing the rounds on Twitter:

In our century, American politics has been blown open by the reverberating crises of neoliberalism and capitalist globalization. They have rebounded on our society and politics in four major forms: imperial blowback and endless warfare; deindustrialization and the hollowing out of American society; the rise of an engorged, predatory, and increasingly insane billionaire class, obsessed with eugenics and immortality; and the climate crisis, now a source of regular natural disasters and swelling refugee flows. At each juncture, the Democrats have attempted restoration: to manage the crisis, carry out the bailout, stitch things back together, and try to get back to normal. It is the form of this orientation, as much as substantive questions of culture, race, and gender, that seems to me the fundamental reason the Democrats are often experienced as a force of inhibition rather than empowerment by so many voters. And it is against this politics of containment that Trump’s obscenity comes to feel like a liberation for so many.

[The Democratic leadership] is engaged in a backward-looking project. Only through restorationism can the party balance its competing commitments to social and economic justice and capitalist growth. It seeks to recapture a lost past in which these goals accommodated each other, and it suppresses any positive vision of the future that might require deciding internal tensions. Just consider the way that Biden and Harris both have championed reforms that everyone knows cannot be accomplished without abolition of the filibuster and reform of the federal court system, which they are both hesitant to contemplate, occasionally entertaining narrowly tailored, self-limited reforms. Such an effort, if undertaken more generally, would necessitate a wider critique of American society and the undemocratic institutions that define it—a critique at odds with an image of an America that is “already great.” Despite their various discrete policy goals, Democrats thus prove unable to tell a clear story about what those goals mean, how they fit together, and how we might get there.

Slow pony and all, but I feel like this is something we all intuitively know.

I honestly believe that a large fraction of this is because Trump speaks with the vocabulary of a 12 year old so the stuff he says doesn’t go way over stupid people’s heads.

Each point where it changes direction is an election where the voting base had the income/education properties at that point. The line shows the march of time.

I mean the triangles

Not sure how to explain it any clearer. Not every vertex is labelled, but they’re all elections.

Oh. Weird

The high school’s principal, Drew Stewart, sent a message to families announcing that the school would not restrict students’ individual exercise of their free speech rights, but would limit their ability to congregate in large groups so that all students would feel safe on campus. The message came before a TikTok video went viral showing many students in a Beverly Hills High School courtyard rowdily celebrating Donald Trump’s victory in the 2024 presidential election.

The video shows dozens of students — mostly boys — dancing, cheering and crowding against each other. At one point, a school security guard holds up a Trump banner to raucous applause.

Good to see the youth active in politics.

I can see the GOP saving their “fascism no election” card for when they really need it. Whatever the Dems are doing is clearly not working.
