Ha I was asked to change an evening shift into a night shift. I said, sure, for 2x money. They said no. Then they took a per diem making 2.5x my hourly to do it. lol

It’s not crazy, but it is new. I only got OT when more than 40 hours were billable. Obviously 0 now that I’m a contractor.
Shit is going to burn when the labor market goes back to normal.

People realized with different circumstances and many not working or working from home that for most people work sucks. Some employers will hopefully need to learn to make their opportunities suck left.
Hopefully the go getters realize their value and their high demand and don’t just settle in places that put all the work on them while everyone else screws around.
I don’t expect anything to really change in the long run, unfortunately.
In a talent shortage. Most of the go getters have been promoted. So they are either working somewhere without these shitty bosses. Or else they’ve been promoted to the point of non-go-getting.

I’m pretty much fine with this, but it’s interesting that people can get nailed by grandma/uncle’s DNA test.

the odds of it ever mattering are low, but i sure lectured my mom for an hour after she got one. they also need to make it a lot more clear that that’s what you’re signing up for…
