I just paid $159 to get a working 65" TV taken away. 'Merica
It’s LCD rear-projection circa 2004 or something. HD and still works, but pretty dim by modern standards. Can’t even give it away when Wal-mart is selling 65" TVs for $278.

was able to give away our 50" to a sports bar that needed an extra screen via craigslist. the guy who showed up seemed skeptical that it still worked, but took it anyway and i never heard from him again.
It would have been funny if the person took the $159 and then just left it on the side of the road outside his condo.

I’m actually going to be up in the St Augustine area over the next couple days, but I have my girlfriend with me and she’s meeting my family for the first time, so I’m not going to be able to sneak away. However, if you end up gojng to the new poker room they opened in St Aug, let me know. I’d sneak out to meet up and have a beer.
sweet! not likely this trip as I have no ID and am spending time with family, but I will probably be back often because I learned normally flights here are very cheap and I’m not quite hating it as much as i thought i would, it’s very pretty and there’s good golf courses here

Oh yeah, tons of decent places to golf. I’d also be down to golf any time you come back.
My cousin is a VP at Imagineering and she said it was like a party when they got the news. Literally no one who works at Disney (corporate side) liked Chapek or the direction he was going.
The decisions he made were staggeringly stupid. I also heard a rumor from another friend at Disney that the leads of 3 studios said “he goes or we go” and one of those leads was Kevin Feige.

my sis works for disney and was overjoyed, I was confused, chapek just seemed like he really overestimated how fast the streaming service could scale, I’m still bullish on everything they’ve done in the last few years and reinvested recently
seems like it’s a thing with all the disney employees I know to fucking LOVE disney but passionately despise the company/leadership

It was a we-take-your-junk company. I saw them carry it to the truck.
I showed them that it worked in hopes someone might want it. But they said it’s going straight to the electronics dump.
More than a couple of tech billionaires have dabbled in longevity research.
It just seems so transparently narcissistic and self-indulgent. I mean say what you want about bill gates, but at least working to prevent malaria helps other people.
