Iām basically a robot
After having similar happen to my child at the same age, I, almost unbelievably, find myself with sympathy in my heart for Ted fucking Cruz.
I despise the man but there are many people in the world worse than Ted. Even though I expect him to criticize the media and use this for political gain, I still feel bad for the man, his daughter, and his family. Itās complicated.
Iām sorry to hear you went through something similar.
I just hung out with a bunch of friends for a bday thing and of the ones with kids between say 8 and 18, like two-thirds of them had ongoing, awful stories about childraising that they trace directly to covid. I know this isnāt a new idea (and I think many of yall have posted poignantly about it on unstuck) but hearing them all together and seeing a bunch of people who imo are overall thoughtful and chill and wonderful (and it must be said privileged) get frankly unnerved about how hard the pandemic has been and about what it might mean to their kidsā future quality of life was memorable to say the least
yeah tbh Iām prob too much of a pussy to have posted that unless I felt decent about my results too

Also, Iām embarrassed to say that I had the brief thought, āWait, why canāt I choose a lower confidence level than 50%?ā.
Yeah. This gets you a week off. Literally my only ban ever and probably will be my only one ever

And frankly I got robbed on the Pistons question they won the title in 2004 over the Malone/Payton Lakers, I knew that 100%, I just wasnāt sure if reigning champion was a thing for the 04-05 season, but decided that maybe so very few people would know that it was in 2004, that it wouldnāt make sense to fake people out by 1 year so I said true 90%
You are possibly unaware but itās traditional to update the āLog of key moderator actionsā thread when banning someone.
Some of you know who Naomi Wu is - engineer who looks like a sex worker (her words) and excellent twitter follow who seems to always have something interesting to say. Yes I noticed the boobs first, but Iāve been a fan for things other than the boobs for a while.
Anyway this video is one of the most touching fascinating things Iāve ever seen - on a bunch of different levels. In a given year I sit through maybe 3 longish youtubes in their entirety. This one had me riveted. I learned a ton about her, lesbian archetypes, and how tough life in China can be. Basically her parents raised her as a boy until she was 16 for reasons that are better explained in the video.
She dishes it out but canāt take it.
