I think we might need a chapGPT thread. I had it try to write user stories related to my job and it did a pretty good job of giving a base to start from, even without knowing what our internal software actually does.
I already consider NYC to be a world-class city, but a Caesars Palace Casino in Times Square would be the final jewel in our crown.
Hudson Yards seems best. Itâs a completely inauthentic, soulless money grab already, so a casino wonât really disrupt anything.
Long Island City too
Yep - you also have that giant bowl thing for people to jump off after they lost all their savings at the Beverly Hillbillys slot machine.
Itâs actually kind of amazing how shitty it is, they had approximately infinite money to play with and built pretty much the same condo development you can find in any city, just more expensive.
That suicide pineapple is hideous too
As fatal police shootings increase, more go unreported
Flawed FBI data has left thousands of deaths uncounted and complicates efforts to hold troubled police departments accountable
Fewer fatal police shootings are recorded by the federal government every year, despite renewed scrutiny of police use of force and millions of dollars spent to encourage local law enforcement to report the data.
Even though federal records indicate that fatal shootings by police have been declining nationwide since 2015, The Washington Postâs Fatal Force database shows the opposite is true: Officers have shot and killed more people every year, reaching a record high in 2021 with 1,047 deaths. The FBI database contains only about one third of the 7,000 fatal police shootings during this time â down from half when The Post first started tracking.
Is there any part of Manhattan below 59th that doesnât suck now?

several. east village, for instance, still has lots of character
We almost always stay in the East Village now when we visit, our last 3 trips to NY we stayed at the Standard there. Itâs a great location, the neighborhood is fun and itâs also a very nice launching place for visits to either Brooklyn or the Upper East Side via the 456 line.
I once stayed in a hotel in Jasper, Canada which for some reason had a bottle opener attached to the wall next to the toilet. I guess thatâs the opposite approach to urinals at the bar.
