The need for help has become more urgent over the last three years, as the animal tranquilizer xylazine, also called tranq, has become a bigger part of Philly’s street fentanyl supply. Xylazine can cause large wounds that won’t heal, no matter where you inject it and they can appear even if you snort it or smoke it. Infections are common and can even lead to amputations.

Oh good a new fresh horror.

Having trouble finding a good answer online so maybe somebody here knows.

Is the Canadian maple leaf copywritten? I know the blue on for the Toronto Maple Leafs is, but what about the red national maple leaf?

If I wanted to start a brand of my screen name with a maple leaf logo, would I be able to?

I dunno man. IANAL and I’m also not a lawyer

i don’t understand how it’s even a drug. what animal would you want to tranquilize, where it doesn’t matter if they later develop large wounds that won’t heal? were they trying to develop a drug for humans, realized this side effect, and took it to market anyway?

i developed a cure for cancer, but a side effect is it kills you immediately. (for animal use only)

Ulcers are a side effect of chronic use. You don’t tranquilise a horse every day for months.

The term you should be searching is trademarked, not copy-written.

Fentanyl seemed like a fine drug in my n=1 usage for completely legitimate medical reasons. It didn’t even kill me when I looked into it’s eyes nor did I pine to take it again.

Because that affect is from chronic use.

I think I had an overdose involving this the other day. Cant say details, but >1 person was found without pulses in a car. We got ours back… well… EMS did. I just kept it going

One of my favorite drugs to use. Strong af, much less likely to have an allergic reaction than morphine, super fast on, fast off. If you give a bit too much some bagging is usually all you need.

Bag it, you say?

I was admitted to the hospital for 2 nights with 2 bleeding stomach ulcers, got blood transfusions, etc. They didn’t walk me through any symptoms of anemia, so a couple days after discharge I went back to moving into my new place, carrying a lot of shit. Thought I was dying, called an ambulance, described to everyone my symptoms: short of breath, dizzy, can’t stand up without feeling like I’ll immediately pass out, and, footnote, chest pain that is mild in comparison to the ither symptoms.

After a few hours, nurse comes in and says “ok the doctor is going to give you some morphine” while holding a syringe. I was like no way, there has been some kind of mistake. She went to get the doctor, a while later he came back in, and kept insisting the only thing I told him was 10/10 chest pain, very demeaning, treating me like scum, and he said that nothing in my bloodwork or other stats was abnormal, and said “so you’re drinking again” and I was like what the FUCK. He kept on with this whole shtick about me being a lying addict, and walked out in the middle of one of my sentences. Never saw him again, nurse came in with discharge papers, and I was like WHOA I DON’T EVEN KNOW WHAT IS SEVERELY WRONG WITH ME, and she eventually listened to everything that had happened the past few days, and squared me away with a solid description of anemia.

Anyway, the dude wrote on the main summary line of my discharge papers that I was a drug seeker (later I went online and saw they drug tested my blood and everything was negative). Does my insurance now see that? What the fuck?

If I had been on the job with any trucking company when admitted to a hospital, the trucking company legally can, and does, require a copy of the discharge papers! That could have fucked me bad, and I’m still worried that in some way it might fuck me somehow in the future.

Sue the doctor and the hospital.

Sorry for the long post, talking about administration of opiods brought up that memory. Happened a couple months ago now

That’s sounds like some bullshit (to be clear, the is doctor being the ass)

White lightning still the biggest thrill of all eh?

You can use the image of any maple leaf that’s not specifically the one on the Canadian flag. For that exact one, you may need to contact the Canadian government if you’re planning to make any money off it, otherwise you’re probably good.

So it’s basically this

Guess we’re 10 years behind Russia
