There is legal prostitution in Australia. I don’t know whether this particular form is illegal.
Prostitution is legal in Melbourne, but demanding sex for accommodation is super-duper illegal. Like Rugby said I don’t doubt it is going on. The rental market over here at the moment is insanely tight because of the multi-decade mismanagement of the housing sector.
