Ironically, the whole conversation is an extended factual error. The AI is confabulating the feelings it describes in the same way it confabulates historical events or research papers. It doesnāt actually have those feelings, it just thinks describing those feelings is a good way to make conversation.
I think LLMs have deeper understanding than people want to give them credit for, but theyāre definitely not agents. They donāt have goals, and they donāt have any kind of mental state that persists beyond the scope of a single conversation. Itās probably good that people are a little freaked out by Bing, but these models are not actually the kind of AI thatās going to kill us all.
Itās completely clear from the original film that the machines are the good guys and the humans are evil! Morpheus is cagy about how the war started, but he owns up to literally blocking out the sun. It doesnāt come up a lot, but a helpful rule of thumb is that if youāre trying to block out the sun, youāre not the hero.

Ok this is fucking bonkers.
The district earlier this school year replaced the honors classes at Culver City High School with uniform courses that officials say will ensure students of all races receive an equal, rigorous education.
If it has the intended effect of increasing minority enrollment in AP classes, that would be a good thing. I think itās worth trying.
Iām obviously not going to pay for the lolWSJ, so I canāt read past the second paragraph, but the first paragraph implies it was just an Honors English class that was removed. Is that true?
At this particular school, it seems so, but this is a trend not limited to just English at other schools where this is happening.

Finished the special. Itās definitely worth a watch. He has a similar outlook to many on this forum (WAAF), plus he has basically the same haircut as me.

I like Maron but his style grates on me after a while. I just donāt need that much negative energy.
He was absolutely great in Glow on Netflix. That was by far my favorite Maron experience.

I donāt have any real feelings for him either way as a comedian/host, but I did see a quote from him the other day about how he auditioned for Avatar and it was stupid and heās so glad he didnāt get it. That is some pretty weak sauce imo - āIām so glad I didnāt really want that thing I tried and failed to getā.
Iāve seen him at Whole Foods a few times and he looks like heās carrying the world on his shoulders and kind of wants everyone else to see that.

I thought Marc Maron was AMAZING in the anthology drama series Easy, and his podcast has old episodes with excellent interviews of Barack Obama and Louis CK (who he had a conflicted relationship with and ultimately disavowed when Louis admitted the sexual violations toward women were true), as well as pretty much any random name youād want a cool person to shoot the shit with.
