My friend’s family got together to prep before meeting with the doctors treating him in the ICU. They planned out who would speak, what was going to be said, and how. Why? Because they felt like his life depended on how the doctors percieved them and how that might affect their mood and attitude and ultimately their judgements on treatment. The relationship between family and hospital staff was still strained. AFAIK my friend got the best technical care possible. On a human level, maybe not.
Yes, that’s life. I don’t think that means we have to repeat the same dynamic all the way down to elementary school grades.
it was still dumb (in a vacuum, at least) to send it because so many professors are huge fucking crybabies and getting a response like that (or worse) is a heavy favorite
in that vein, i propose that the university should just charge the student for another semester of classes in this instance, for getting additional hard-knocks education about realities of working with professors.
