Electric and gas both suck. What you need is magnets.
We switched from gas to induction and it has overall been a very positive experience. It gets much hotter, much faster than gas. Also much better temp control.
Only major downside is wok cooking. I think gas still wins there. We have an induction compatible wok, and it just doesnât seems to work quite as well.

I did take a little bit of license there, but thatâs more or less how induction cooktops work.
You have to have compatible pots and pans. Copper pans, for example, wonât get hot at all.

My parents and grandparents have induction and i do not endorse this post, whenever I use their stoves I hate it.
