I don’t think so these days, though the winner did do videos for run it once, so some value there but nobody’s gonna sponsor the main event winner anymore like they used to. There were only a few patches at the final table this year, one being the winner, who did videos for that site already.
Someone told me you have to sign some sort of contract that you won’t do a deal, but I don’t know what the penalty would be.
Well the bracelet itself is supposedly worth around $400K just in gold/platinum/diamonds/whatever. I would assume most winners manage to get at least $10K a year for life in sponsorship, if they want it. And that may be low. Tony Miles came in second and got a few years of Best Bet patches I think. Then again, Koray didn’t have a patch on this year as far as I know, so I could be wrong.
You can also get some televised/streamed cash game invites that are pretty juicy and create additional patch equity. An invite to a soft 50/100 game on stream is probably worth like $2K/hr for 8 hours, so like $16K. Easy to imagine getting 5-10 of those a year for a couple years. Maybe quite a bit more.
You can also create some value off your fame using social media.
I dunno maybe it’s more like $1M or high six figures, but it’s gotta be a lot.
Not being televised on ESPN has definitely hurt. This new deal is mostly leading to PokerGo content, which means a lot less value for the players that get on featured tables.

Reports of an active shooter in Vegas. Hopefully this is some kind of false alarm.

Thats different than the 777 online tourney they are updating on pokernews?
I think there are multiple ones at once. I think PA, MI, and then NV/NJ each have their own events each week based on which states are merged player pools and which are isolated. I think they are the same buyin/structure, the NV/NJ ones are probably larger fields.
Ran it through Pio, he’s supposed to mix check and bet on the turn w/ his combo about 50/50. I’m supposed to x/back 60% and bet 40%, and I chose a good sizing to bet. River he’s supposed to check 97.5% overall and 92% w/ that hand, when he does jam I pure call K6, so overall it was ok I guess.
Would’ve been an exploitative fold against a guy playing pretty aggro, just not a lot people will find the bluffs there on a really weird node that I’m sure he’s not like randomizing to get into 2.5% of the time or whatever. But I’m supposed to call all my Kx hands and weaker two pair, so calling K6 still leaves a ton of room to overfold.
for me more often online that sort of thing on a bricky river is a I’m scared you’ll check line esp considering limited of PA only but you’ve seen super aggro but I think default is just to let it go? Not that it mattered probably. Grats on the 2nd but don’t pine over a bracelet or a PA only one or whatever, those things don’t matter.
fwiw, I don’t think AA does that but maybe would bet a little less as a blocker/value?, that J is a not good card for AA. 60% seems a little much for AA though to me.
but I’ve always been more of the what you’re supposed to do is call if you’re ahead and fold if you are beat moreso than what the solver says so carry on. Don’t think most players bluff that kind of board that much on that line and preflop is still different than river for some but I ain’t mad over it.
Nice score
