Sure if the mod bans me for another week for zero reason I’ll anonymize this account as well. Up to him.
Do you feel obligated to play devils advocate or take the extreme minority position on every single thing ever discussed here?
Yes that question is rhetorical because I know you do.
It’s like something inside you sees a tweet with an extreme ratio (for example) and you absolutely MUST defend the terrible take. It’s so odd.
No, but I did watch the clip and was like wait he wasn’t blaming the receiver at all, the words in the tweet don’t match the clip. It’s a totally unfair treatment of what he was actually saying. Like, the guy who made that tweet is a fucking liar who just wants to stoke outrage. That’s not what the guy said.

There is no functional difference between “blaming enforcement” and “blaming Tee Higgins.” DUCY?
Actually, never mind. Of course you don’t see why. That would require empathy with the human condition, understanding of how the general populace hears these sorts of things, and the ability to grasp nuance. You may have these things, but you don’t really tend to show that here.
Tee HIggins has already had people in his Instagram DMs and comments blaming him. Do you understand how comments like Scott’s can exacerbate this issue? All people will hear is “Tee Higgins shouldn’t have done that” and we’re off to the races.
Of course there is? Like what the fuck are you talking about? Scott was saying that offensive players do this all the time because it isn’t called. If it was called they wouldn’t do it because they don’t want to get called for a foul.
Like he’s directly addressing SAS’s question here at 4 minutes asking if there’s anything that can be done in that specific situation. Yeah, enforce the lowering the head rule more on offense.
Asked and answered.
So people are too stupid to actually watch the two minutes of commentary in question and understand what Scott was actually saying? Entirely possible, I’ll admit. I’m not sure how they’ll hear is “Tee Higgins shouldn’t have done that” because that’s not what Scott said. What Scott actually said is “not trying to put any blame on Tee Higgins”. Because, you know, he wasn’t. He wasn’t criticizing Higgins, he was criticizing how the game is officiated. Scott said “they never make that call.” Higgins was playing within the bounds of how the game is officiated, Scott knows and acknowledges this, and says that the game should be officiated differently.
And of course, you won’t see Scott saying “not trying to put any blame on Tee Higgins” in that tweeted clip because oops the guy clipping it didn’t include it in there. Probably because he’s a liar looking to generate retweets and outrage. Mission accomplished.
Foosball and UFC and boxing shouldn’t be sports and lol fighting in hockey. We’re all complicit, for there is curling.
Curling is only tolerable once every four years man
also you can’t compare games or sports you’re supposed to be drinking during vs those you absolutely can’t do both at the same time
also they should get rid of heading in soccer. I tried that once when I was like 11 and it fucken hurt like hell, seems dangerous.
Um, yes? How can you participate in a political forum active during the Trump years and not think that?
OK but then skydiver’s point is that what Scott actually said isn’t important, the important thing is how people might misinterpret Scott’s fair point.
Scott choosing to highlight that point (lol) is similar to Skip tweeting about the schedule implications. It’s straightforward telling on himself.
Lmao he didn’t lead with the crown of the helmet. What a ridiculous premise. That’s about as close to a textbook football play by 85 as you’ll ever see.
“not trying to put any blame on Tee Higgins,” has big “I’m not a racist but…” vibes in this clip. And no it doesn’t matter when he said it.
And for the last time, Tee Higgins DIDN’T EVEN DO WHAT HE SAID! Leading with the shoulder is perfectly legal. Every single WR does it. So why single out Tee and imply that he did something wrong? Jesus fuck, it’s almost as bad as the antivax crap we saw last night.
This was a complete accident, and no one should be blaming anyone for the play.
Think it’s pretty hard to tell what happened from a couple of still pictures and the one angle of full speed video I’ve seen.
Omg who gives a fuck about the hit it wasn’t like a dirty play or anything it’s just a typical football collision, which by it’s very nature is violent as fuck.
