They said AED
Just go to a blank screen, ESPN.
The earlier tweet from the Fox guy said he got AED, a difibrillator shock
That counts.
It’d be hard to see. If they’re doing it well it wouldn’t be obvious. A slight pause, a shock that causes very little movement of the patient, and immediate resumption of CPR. I’ll shock people with my hands on chest in controlled situations, but most people won’t do that.
I watched Christian Eriksen go down in a very similar manner (no hit though). Hopefully Hamlin recovers just as well.
The AED would have been applied shock or not…not enough info to be sure but I’m expecting the worst outcome
Those red boxes you see in public places. Provides shocks just like the doctors with the paddles.
I had an electrician replace a switch without turning off the breaker two days ago. Thought he was nuts but maybe these guys just always do that.
But once they apply it, it’s gonna sense the rhythm and try to shock him if it would help. Right?
twitter first responders are guessing that ain’t what they were doing, but that’s what the media was told.
Paddles aren’t used anymore. We use things to stick on the chest. I’d hope that this wasn’t an AED to be honest. I’d hope they’d have real paramedics with actual normal defibrillators. I suspect they do to be honest and it’s just a translation issue… AEDs are a ton better than nothing, but they’re super slow.
I don’t think a blank screen is a realistic option, so what’s your next-best alternative?
Yep
If this game isn’t called off and I’m one of the coaches, I am telling the NFL to fuck right off and refusing to play.
Been while since I had formal training but it’s been on the order of 20 plus years that AEDs are autonomous devices. Hook them up and it decides to shock (believe manual override is possible).
What’s standard equipment at a major sports game these days? Mechanical device for the breathing part of CPR?
at least delay til tomorrow or later. can’t be a tie bc the game ain’t tied.
i don’t really know what you do if he’s dead, and it’s starting to feel like he may be.
Amazes me that there are still people there. Guess they’re thinking, “I paid $400 for a ticket and I’m not going home dammit!”
I mean they’d say immediately if he was okay. But at the same time the whole waiting for the family thing is something you don’t do for an emergency life-or-death situation.
Supposed to be a heap of lightning later in evening so doubt the finish game tonight.
My guess is tomorrow or not at all.
