2022 Midterm Elections (Abandon hope all ye who enter here) butnahhh. or maybe?

I’m not suggesting it, but they could pull a Willie Horton on Herschel walker with pictures of white women. Hell, go full out of wedlock father/deadbeat dad on him. Dems obviously wouldn’t want to, but his primary opponent missed a golden opportunity.

If I were Roger Stone I’d found a Women for Herschel super PAC.

I’m suggesting it.

I think they should show Walker mowing over linebackers like junior seau, then talk about CTE.

That’s who won the seat referenced in the article. It’s not entirely clear to me that electing Cuellar-adjacent Democrats is a particularly good idea. Which is what it sounds like it would take to retain some of these demographically evolving seats. Of course the gerrymander will likely render this all moot in ‘24.

I’d imagining Texas they will just take the 2020 census and any block with names ending in ez or es will be put into one district.

Democrats are so monumentally incompetent they have essentially convinced large numbers of African Americans to join the KKK.

I mean this is America’s future

Who said 3.5? We need one more. I need 3 more to surpass my 5.5 prediction.

It can easily be true that this sheriff was horrible and SF voters are fed up with progressive harm reduction policies that aren’t working. Voting based on actual events on the ground rather than political allegiances is a feature not a bug.

What lol NY Times tries to make out as a national trend is a separate discussion.

That was the county where the Sherriff’s deputy assaulted Masai and then tried to sue him when Masai shoved him back

Didn’t the dude take like a year off for stress leave or something ridiculous?

Trump carried PA white voters by 15 points. Fetterman leads Oz by 1 among white voters.

Or maybe all the polls suck and need to be unskewed, cause Tim Ryan is leading 44-41 in Ohio, Beasley is leading 44-40 in North Carolina, and Warnock is tied 47-47 in Georgia.

I mean JD Vance is shit and Tim Ryan’s a good candidate for Ohio, but still that seems unlikely.

Or the polls are real and don’t account for riggage, which will cause opposite results on election day.

Yeah I think that’s a reasonable explanation for polling misses that consistently see Republicans outperform by 3-5 points. Voter suppression is definitely a thing and you have to wonder how many people answer the phone and say they’re voting blue, then show up and find out they were kicked off the rolls, show up without ID when they need it, show up and see a 2 hour wait and go home, etc…

Sometimes I try to place myself in the shoes of a somewhat sane GOP voter and imagine how I would handle it. For example, let’s say the Warnock/Walker race was reversed.

The Dem candidate is dumb as a post, probably has CTE, lies constantly, etc. Basically all things Walker. However he is on the correct side of all the issues.

The GOP candidate is like Warnock. Squeaky clean, intelligent, no skeletons in the closet (at least as far as I know), etc. But he’s pro-gun, pro-life, doesn’t think racism is a thing, etc.

Obviously, this kind of thing doesn’t really happen because the characteristics of the people and the ideologies are correlated, but let’s pretend. I’m not sure what I’d do. Either stay home or vote Dem. It’s a tough call. I’m not sure that I wouldn’t vote for the DEM Walker in this case.
