well, after looking like we might have a chance to go all blue in SD county, redistricting made my congressional district even more red (and renumbered, it’s now CD-48), so my preferred candidate dropped out and is now running for state senate, which is a much more favorable map.
Fortunately he is starting with a huge war chest (for a state senate campaign).

Is the idea that we have some blue wave dems in what were formerly red-leaning seats that are now redistricted to be more safely dem in the future?

Yeah, pretty much. But we also have blue wave dems in formerly blue-leaning seats that are now redistricted to be more safely Republican in the future (GA-06 is probably the most famous of these).

I guess it’s political ad season again, and I’m already screaming at my tv. PA senate candidate “fighting FOR American Capitalism and AGAINST socialism. Fighting against the woke mob.” And “this is where I shot and killed my first buck” while dressed in his hillbilly camo shit. His ads all end with him and his friends shouting “LETS GO” and I’m guessing the “brandon” is just implied there. The future of politics is so grim here. Dipshits are going to take over everywhere.
