Actually Nate Silver’s model gave Trump like a 35 percent chance of winning on Election Day in 2016, and the trend lines were in his favor. That is…. Not the case right now.
I would be quite surprised if Trump pulls out a W this time
I’d say it’s more likely than Democrats holding both houses of Congress.
Ah, but Republican basic governing approach is “never do anything because THAT’S SOCIALISM!”. So failing to assassinate Nancy (and, before that, Mike Pence) is just them sticking to their small government principles. Chessmate, libtard.
Reading the NV Independent early voting blog by Jon Ralston and it’s just a day by day account of Nevada slowly slipping away into the abyss. Great stuff. I’m pretty confident Rs will get to at least 51 at this point with an outside shot of going as high as 54. I didn’t think a 40+ house seat wipeout was in play just because we don’t have that many seats to begin with this time but it’s looking more and more likely.
won’t somebody think of the pre-writes?!?
Underestimating Democrats by 2 points would be unprecedented in the Trump era, no?
Very close. Just about every poll had it within a point or two of 50/50, which is exactly what we got.
It was one of the few states that didn’t overestimate Democrat chances in 2020 senate elections.
O/u is 53, IMO.
Dems will lose at least one of AZ/NH plus all the closer ones. We are white-knuckling CO/WA. Anything closer is almost definitely a loss.
Biden/Schumer need to fill as many empty judge seats as they can ASAP. Of course they won’t.
At least they’re honoring the blue slip tradition. Wouldn’t want to be violating any norms in these trying times. Maybe they can bring back Leahy’s corpse to head up the judiciary committee for the last 2 months to block a bunch of circuit judges too.
No one has had their loans forgiven under the Biden plan right? I don’t mean just here but in general. No wonder the application was so short, it was never going to be used
Correct. It remains on hold until a federal appeals court decides the legal challenge 6 states brought against it.
America just needs to stop paying bullshit bills. Literally just stop fucking paying student loans and medical bills. If 50 million people get bad credit guess what, the finance industry will still find a way to lend money the entire fucking economy depends on it.
Pretty sure in that scenario the banks get the cops to put everyone in debtor’s prison. They’re not just going to stand by and let defaults happen.
Probably the thing people are most wrong about filing for bankruptcy is it’s impact on your credit going forward. You usually actually end up with a higher credit score after because some or all of the delinquent accounts disappear and creditors love lending to people with a recent bankruptcy for a simple reason. You can only file a chapter 7 every 8 years. So my clients end up with mailboxes full of offers for everything under the sun before their case is even over.
All that again to say even the worst financial situation possible isn’t really all that bad. I actually have an attorney friend from law school I have filed 2 cases for now. Letting the creditors grind you to dust because you are scared of credit score ramifications or bankruptcy is very common though.
It’s possible. I don’t think it’s likely, but it’s possible.
