2022 LC Thread—New Year, New Thread

MIA is fine as a musician. Kanye is just hot garbage.

My, uh, friends just hack a fire stick and use that for streaming.

ALL GUESSES ARE WRONG

My friend uses an android box running Kodi to stream torrents from his main computer that’s running “Universal Media Server”. The one computer serves 4 boxes, they can all stream at the same time no problem. Or so he told me.

Late to the game, but I think people are asking the wrong question here. It’s not “can I spend $28 at Taco Bell”, it’s “can I spend $28 at Taco Bell ordering through Doordash?” and the answer to that is an unequivocal yes!

Everything on Doordash costs $30.

On its side is probably better for ventilation than standing so go for it.

Just took me like 3 hours to properly setup the new pc. A new apple product takes like 5 min.

The gulf between PC and apple has to the worst example in all of consumer products. Microsoft is so terrible at everything UIwise that it truly is amazing they are the global leader.

Every single step in PC setup is suboptimal from a user perspective.

What if it’s 4am? A $4 frozen pizza is still cheaper than delivery with a minimum order? If you have kids and are don’t make much money, even that savings is significant over the long run.

Some bars serve frozen pizza and it’s perfectly fine for the purpose of cheap food so you’re not drinking on an empty stomach.

You probably don’t want to admit it took you 3 hours to set up a PC, good God.

I recently reset my surface and it took me about 10 minutes to get up and running.

This is all true, but I think cost is a consideration. Frozen pizza is so much cheaper. You can often get a “good” frozen pizza for 1/4 to 1/5 (or sometimes even less) of delivery.

No way FIFA could have seen this coming

International television crews in Qatar for the Fifa World Cup will be banned from interviewing people in their own homes as part of sweeping reporting restrictions that could have a “severe chilling effect” on media coverage.

Broadcasters, such as the BBC and ITV, will also be forbidden from filming at accommodation sites, like those housing migrant workers, under the terms of filming permits issued by the Qatari government.

Instead, they will be permitted to film in public places in only three locations in Doha: the Corniche waterfront promenade, the West Bay area and the Towers area.

Capturing footage “near or within” government buildings, universities, places of worship and hospitals is also prohibited, along with recording on “any privately owned property, even with the owner’s consent.

Journalists have previously been detained in Qatar for reporting on issues deemed contentious by the authorities. In 2015, a group of BBC reporters were arrested in Doha and spent two nights in prison while investigating housing conditions for migrant workers. Last November, two Norwegian journalists investigating conditions for migrant labourers working on World Cup venues were arrested and detained for 36 hours as they tried to leave the country.”

I have no idea about Lalas’ politics, but he’s always been a contrarian POS in his soccer ‘analysis’. I am both biased against him (played for a rival club in Southeast Michigan), but he’s also easily the best soccer player ever from Michigan.

Haven’t seen anything about his politics ever though tbf. I doubt as a fox analysis he’s going to lead the charge against Qatar after not showing an interest in politics thus far.

I used to get this pizza called Wild Mike’s because I thought it had the best crust (i.e. edible) of any of the frozen pizzas I tried. I’d buy a plain cheese and then kind of cheat by adding all my own fresh toppings and they’d turn out decent. So of course those pizzas seem to have disappeared.

Check his Twitter. He’s borderline

I can see 3 hours if he bought a Dell Inspiron. Mine got named FU for a reason.
