Apparently the Texas school suspended the kid getting choked for 3 days and then refused to reconsider after the video went viral.
Is there an article about this? Has the school tried to provide any justification?

On Wednesday, May 11th, during lunch, Shaan Pritmani was physically attacked and choked by another student at his middle school. The school called his parents and informed them that their son had been in an altercation with another student. The school stated that the victim (Shaan) was at fault and received a 3-day ISS, while the aggressor only received a 1-day ISS.
Kansas City Public Schools would do that. Both kids get in trouble equally no matter who started the fight. Even if some kid hit another right in front of the teacher.
Then I went to a suburban school district where the teachers and school authorities actually tried to get to the bottom of who started it, and if the other kid was just defending themself. I thought that was a lot more fair. But I can see how it could have racial bias issues.
The defender has the advantage. Typically, 3:1 so the math works out.
Don’t send your kid to Texas public schools. I was in them in Elementary school, got a 1 week suspension from zero tolerance/3 strikes type policies because I nodded off 3 different times in classes (I get tired post-meals + as a little kid I couldn’t stay focused). I was in 4th grade. Parents pulled me the next day for a private school (and thank god we moved to NY the next year where I could get proper schooling in public schools)
