2021 College Football Gameday Thread

I’m absolutely stunned

Every dollar from the public has to be going on Ohio State.

I have nothing smart to say about this matchup or college football betting in general, but…something is keeping this spread from being where we’d expect, right?

Ohio State going to win by exactly 7 points YHIHF. Hopefully in heartbreaking fashion, but whatever.

The only thing I can think of is that Michigan has basically 2 of the top 10 edge rushers in CFB. Stroud has looked suspect when he has had to improvise or face pressure. If they can get pressure with 4 and disguise coverage well enough to get sacks or turnovers they can get some empty drives out of OSU.

Michigan’s passing attack has been competent and getting better.

Michigan should definitely be an underdog, but it isn’t like this is a team that’s been just squeaking by and getting lucky week after week. They’re a very legit top 5 to top 7 team with a few elite pieces on defense in key positions.

OSU has been held down at various times this season, but yeah I’m taking OSU for sure.

oh their secondary has been awful.

they’ve gotten fortunate. It’s also why they got torched by purdue.

Say what you want about the spread, the money line of -300 or whatever is truly free money.

Harbaugh doesn’t win these games. Period.

Whoa, ILP did a 180 and is predicting Meechigan outright and Riverman convinced they have 0 shot.

Franklin getting a massive extension after being sub 500 in conf play the past two years is great

Seems a small price to pay for someone who hasn’t been accused of covering up child rape.

Hazing sure but you can’t expect these guys to do the right thing ALL the time

Meh. I refuse to put any stock into last year and I think PSU with a healthy Clifford is arguably a top ten team. I expect to get laughed at for that.

The loss to Illinois is inexcusable Clifford healthy or no

That is certainly the most damning evidence against them being top ten. I really don’t understand what happened there. I do think Clifford wasnt close to 100% and they have zero semblance of a running game, but you’re right, that was pretty inexcusable.

But they were dominating Iowa before he got hurt, kept it close at OSU who is wafflestomping everyone and played UM fairly evenly. Overarching point, ignoring how ridiculous head football contacts are to begin with, I’m not sure they’re going to do much better than Franklin and they’ve been pretty competitive most years since he arrived.

Ohio State has more talent at every single position group, with the arguable exception of defensive end. They have a better coach. They prepare for Michigan all year. This is going to be a fucking curbstomping.

Oh and Notre Dame is definitely getting in, lol Notre Dame, they will open +17 and it will get bet up from there

Cincinnati is currently #4 and Notre Dame is #6. I mean they can’t possibly put Notre Dame over Cincinnati when Notre Dame’s last game of the season is against 3-8 Stanford

@SweetSummerChild

(But that is also assuming Cincinnati wins @ 7-4 East Carolina. Fuck, that’s how Notre Dame is happening again isn’t it)
