Sit down Ari! (or whatever his name is)

Well fuck. We are stuck her for like 8 years so my wife can work for OSU to get public student loan forgiveness after going back to school in her late 30s…I guess we will just stay inside 270 loop

Yes I’m sure police are working really hard to find and stop the culprit. stop. don’t.

I hear Columbus is reasonable.

Went on a walk to get some food. Seeing some reports GA is a little closer, but no official updates yet.

I have never enjoyed MSNBC. Right now it is soothing my soul.

Very disappointed. Expected the election to be called by now so that my Friday after work drinks would be champagne bought with my gambling winnings. Hope now it will be Saturday day drinking.

There are pockets of Columbus that are OK. Clintonville comes to mind. Hang in there.

Not election related:

Since the George Floyd Uprisings, I read The New Jim Crow and it highlighted to me how reductionist and narrow “defund the police” is as a policy goal.

“Defund the police” sounds sweeping and massive, but the police only fiction as they do because the entire “criminal justice system” (term used sarcastically) has been reoriented towards caging brown people since the early 1980s. Of course the law enforcement arm of such an apparatus will brutalize black people.

“Criminal justice reform,” top to bottom, all levels of government, all branches of government, and an emphasis on ending the drug war would be way better messaging and far more effective as a broad policy goal. Address police violence and lack of accountability (and all manner of cop fuckery) under that reform umbrella.

Chris Hayes seems like he tagged in to be on air for the turning point.

The good thing about the Floyd protests this summer. Rs know if they somehow try to ratfuck this election through faithless electors or SCOTUS BS or whatever - it will be Floyd x1000.

The power of the people was made clear this summer. And Republicans only respect power.
