Suzzerâs good people in my book so I donât want to pile on, itâs just I canât read that stuff about Reagan without posting Gil Scott-Heron totally nailing the proto-Trump side way back in 1981. Itâs one of those songs I can listen to again and again, just awesome stuff.

I think people are confusing two types of âhealingâ. I think Biden is talking about only one type.
Itâs clear the vitriol and tribalism has to be reduced for your democracy to function long term. Biden is right that something has to be done about the idea that anyone on the other side is your enemy. This is an oddly American phenomenon. Iâve never heard anything like that in Canada, for example. This idea makes it impossible for democracy to function.
The kind that is pissing people off itt, is a whole different thing and I donât think Biden is talking about it. He isnât saying we have to forgive the people responsible for the past 4 years, including Trump. The leadership can be held responsible while still building bridges among the average citizenship.
Itâs like when a cult gets busted. You donât arrest the average adherent. You arrest the cult leader and his inner circle.

Same, got a super solid 9 hours for the first time in a while. Felt great. ButâŚmaybe we shouldnât be so confident just yet. I was just informed by this deplorable that Biden didnât actually win.

Is the move to encourage these people and post links to donate to Trumps legal fight etc? Like I want them to get their hopes up and light money on fire only to be ever more crushed when it doesnât happen.
I donât have as much time on a weekend to follow along, but just wanted to say itâs been fun! Glad we got the result we did (even if it fell short in a lot of dimensions).

The move, as always, is to pat them on the head and call them a good boy/girl, and go back to ignoring them as they continue their blissful march through an ignorant and unfulfilled life of exactly zero consequence.
