Which suburbs? I just looked at two areas Kornacki deep dove (Milwaukee suburbs and KY suburbs around Cincinnati). Trump support was nearly identical to 2016. Bidenās gains are explained almost entirely by the difference in total vote share for 3rd-party candidates. NYT says national average gain for Biden in suburban counties was 4.8%. In Wisconsin, for example, that was about the difference in 2016 ā 2020 3rd-party share. āGaining ground in the suburbsā and āgaining ground in the suburbs although Trump retained exactly the same level of supportā are two pretty different stories.

I mean we can spin this data in many different ways. Because of course, turnout is way higher this year than 2016 so Bidenās increase in the suburbs wasnāt just from people who voted 3rd party last time. And I was referring to the suburbs around Philly and Atlanta specifically.
Im guessing the Trump campaign doesnāt have enough money to book at an actual hotel so they did it at the business of some deplorable business owner?
