Yeah. Kind of reminds me of France/Belgium last WC. The French goal wasn’t as early and they had a much better defense then. Don’t see their sub-Morocco level defense holding for the whole game.
France has kept the same strategy and shape before and after the goal, England is just attacking it better IMO

Yeah the ref has just not given 3 or 4 clear fouls to England.
Be that as it may, he behaves like he’s been shot.
Part of the problem seems to be that they’re all fouling each other constantly, so what’s called is extremely subjective, so one (viable) strategy is to appear to have been murdered in an attempt to get the call.

Quite a good half, easily the best of this round so far.
2nd half of ARG/NED would like to have a word.
Quality was awful. Netherlands did nothing but launch long balls, won one header then a free kick.
Soccer always has two versions of “good” - skillful, quality play OR utter chaos with one team throwing everything forward for a goal. The second type often provides superior spectacle.
If 90% of a player and the ball is in the box, but his trailing heel is outside which gets clipped I guess that’s considered outside the box?
