Yeah I figured losing to the Argentinians wouldnāt be the worst ever because of a potential epic Messi storyline, but seeing how the first thing they think of after pulling off the win is to rub in the opponents facesā¦ fuck 'm

Yeah, probably. I missed the end of normal time though, so I donāt really understand the context.
Going back to my comment of Dijk only going top left, hereās a video of Kepa standing on the left side of the net, guessing correctly and Dijk saying F U Iām still going top left anyway.
His pen today was a good one, but much closer to the middle of the net than normal and hence the save.

Even that one isnāt that high. It looks like it crosses the plane about about 60 of the way up from the ground to crossbar.
Sad about Brazil. Pretty amazing what Croatiaās been able to do tho.

65% of the way up is higher than most try to go.
That was from my most favourite penalty shootout of all time (probably because Iām a Liverpool fan and unrelated hate Kepa).
Chelsea subbed off their keeper Mendy who is really good at penalties because Kepa considers himself a penalty stopping expert with about 1 minute to go in extra time before the shootout.
Fast forward to 3 minutes to see the start of penalty kicks.

Same, Brazil-arg would have been awesome and any combination of bra/arg-eng/fra/por final would have been amazing. Not nearly as many interesting finals with Croatia winning, we need to fade a cro-fra rematch and a couple other snoozers

France seems like the only team left that deserves to win this. Maybe Arg.
Of course, deserve aināt got nothing to do with it.

England was 1st overall after the group stage and was dominant in their 1st knockout game, how can you say France is more deserving than England?
This is and probably will always be my vote for favorite penalty shootout ever.
GK comes out of the box and fouls an attacker sprinting towards the goal all alone. Instant red card in the waning seconds of extra time.
But Ludogorets had already used all their subs, so they had to put a GK shirt on one of the defenders.
They go to penalties and the dude saves two of them, winning the match and qualifying for the Champions League group stage.

France is just a better team. Clearly better imo. But anything can happen. The Croats just beat the clearly better Brazilians.
France has better defenders, but with Franceās injuries England has a much better midfield. I give a slight edge to Kane, Saka, Foden ahead of Mbappe, Giroud, Griezmann, Dembele.
Jude, Declan, Jordan is the best midfield in the tournament and I donāt think itās close.
So I take it youāve got a big bet on England to advance? After all, youāre getting odds.
