My buddy’s parents took him and his three siblings to Singapore, France, Argentina, around the whole damn globe when they were under 10. The kids just wanted to chill in the hotel of course. The parents, two utterly horrific monsters, were super bitter and never took their kids on a vacation when they were old enough to appreciate it. So dumb.

We did cool shit too for the money we had. An RV trip to NC to visit family on Camp Lejeune planned out by AAA with tons of stops was pretty damn fun. With 8 people in the RV. I saw my dad almost be one of the idiots on video at Yellowstone getting mauled by buffaloes camping, etc. They tried to get us out.

The products of the irreconcilable differences this process produces are nothing more than well-divided “audiences,” made available to the influence of advertisers, and all that it cost us was the very foundation of civil society: tolerance.

Agreed! I had some friends who hate traveling take a week off and do lots of stuff around Chicago that they had meaning to do eventually. That’s a staycation to me (they live in Chicago). It is also kinda sad to take 1/3 of your vacation time to stay in your own city lol.
