Maybe the thread title should be OLC (O for other) or SLC (S for summer). I do tend to confuse one for the other.

I saw the Dead around '87 and they were indeed good, but Madison Square Garden is not a good venue for them. I’d go with Pink Floyd and Beastie Boys.

I’ve never been to a show there. I really should go to one. They played 50+ shows there I believe. I saw videos of Beastie Boys on that tour with Run DMC and it was complete chaos.
Dead & Co playing Jazz Fest in Oct. I need to be in CO a few days later but may try to go.
I saw the Dead three times and the time at Laguna Seca Raceway was an order of magnitude better than a stadium show. Rolling grass hills required for the Dead where the show is as much the audience as the band.

Wife has a work thing in NO during jazz fest so I was going to meet her down there but I think I’m doing a golf thing instead. Kind of bummed, think it would be really cool to there during that even if I’m not really into the music

The crowds and food will be great for sure. I’ve heard it’s a night and day difference vs. Mardi Gras (ldo). I was going to drive to CO to fish and camp while I’m at other shows there so would have to drive to New Orleans and then Denver I think. Not sure about doing that lol.
And you’ve never done acid? Smh

Based upon my friends’ New Orleans jazz fest TRs, I’d choose that over golfing. But then again my handicap is 140+.
I’ve done acid. That was meth I’ve never done. (Did not do acid at the dead. I’ve done acid about 5 times. )
