Who will run in 2020?

kind of goes without saying, no?

Thinking you actually meant something by ā€œwhat are you smokingā€ is reading between the lines. Obviously you literally wanted to know what cuse is inhaling into his lungs right now. Got it.

When I say ā€˜what are you smoking?ā€™ Iā€™m saying you must be high if you think I would make a bet on that. Did you read between those lines?

Wasnā€™t your original take that HRC would get less votes than Bloomberg if she ran?

She almost lost last time after literally rigging the entire process in her own favor.

Cuse, here was my question, just for you:

The billionaires donā€™t seem to be reacting well to the notion of a 6% annual tax.

tomorrow is the last day to qualify for next weekā€™s debate, but thereā€™s no drama. No one is close to becoming the last-second 11th person to qualify.

In a related note, looking at Wikipedia I noticed Bernie met the donation qualification for the 6th debate on February 20 - the day after he announced he was running for president. Boss.

Iā€™m willing to bet if she runs Sanders and wins the nomination and it wonā€™t even be close

God I hope sheā€™s dumb enough to

If Iā€™m not mistaken, the mere mention of Clinton throwing her hat into the ring has already bolstered support for Gabbard, which just goes to show what Iā€™ve been saying all alongā€¦ Electing an non centrist anti-establishment candidate is more important to the people than electing another status quo Dem

Would the people prefer an anti-establishment candidate with centrist policy preferences or a status quo Democrat with strong progressive policy credentials?

I get gabbard as an anti-establishment candidate with centrist sensibilities, but who is the status quo Democrat with progressive policy credentials? Barbara Lee? Thatā€™d be cool.

Be more specific on her centrist policy preferences. I do not consider a non interventionist philosophy and coming out in favor of net neutrality in order to protect freedom of speech as being a centrist. Sheā€™s for gun control including banning assault rifles and is in favor of the Green New Deal. Explain how sheā€™s any more a centrist than HRC, Mayor Pete, or the billionaire candidates for me

Me? You responded to NotBruce.

But anyway, sheā€™s been in Congress long enough to have a voting record. Progressive groups rate people in Congress. Tulsi is center-right for Dems.

Just like with HRC, voting record is more important than whatā€™s on your website or in your stump speech.

I think itā€™s very important this next election makes a huge statement. It canā€™t be about compromise and working across the aisle. This needs to be an all out political revolution imo

I did sorry. The above post is in response to you. I donā€™t have all the answers. I just know that we are running out of time and need sweeping unprecedented change in our political system. This working across the aisle wonā€™t cut it

I was undecided between the Poor Media Outlets thread and this one for a bit.

It should probably go in both. The bias in media is both important and disturbingly harmful. Iā€™m not sure how much it effects those of my generation. Many of us have already learned to discount much of it. But I think it has a much higher impact on boomers because they assume theyā€™re watching, listening, or reading unbiased news and reporting because thatā€™s the way it used to be. Itā€™s what happens when just a handful of entities gain control of most media outlets. Itā€™s a huge problem
