Whereupon We Pontificate About Poor Media Outlet Choices

Who gives a fuck? That means 2/3 support it.

Articles like this could literally be Chinese propaganda lol.

Being fired for racism, bigotry, or inciting violence is not the same as being fired for “I have chills.” Trying to equate the two, the way GG always does when someone on the right does something fucked up and how he already couldn’t help himself from doing in the tweets above that you posted, is what makes him a scumbag piece of shit.

I’m not absolving the NYT. They are the predominately responsible party and should be shamed for their actions and immediate rehire her.

I’m also not saying the GG was the reason they fired her.

I’m saying GG attacked a reporter for a non-problematic tweet. I’m also saying GG is smart enough to know that these type of attacks can harm someone’s career, but he doesn’t care about that, he only cares about attacking libs.

Edit: how exactly is her tweet embarrassing? Are political reporters not allowed to have personal political views and express them on their personal social media accounts? I’m sure right wing reporters posted more explicit comments after Trump was elected, but GG didn’t call any of them out.

Lol at liberals creating cancel culture.

Straight news reporters and editors should not be expressing political opinions like that, no. They should be neutral and objective.

Trump was objectively terrible. Biden is objectively an improvement.

This is also known as “the view from nowhere.” No event can ever be reported on in context.

She had chills because the biggest piece of shit ever to hold the office left. Asking the whole world to pretend journalists aren’t going to be happy about that is the mentality that underlies endless both sides bullshit, and you know it. Stop trolling.

A reporter getting chills because Biden is becoming president doesn’t provide any context. She should adopt and internalize a neutral mindset and report objectively on the Biden presidency. To the extent that she isn’t successful in maintaining that mindset, she certainly shouldn’t be making it known publicly. This is how journalists have tried to comport themselves for decades.

No worries Glen will be objective and call out Newsmax, OANN and right leaning reporters…anyday now…

Why aren’t you holding GG to that standard?

I do, if Greenwald was so excited by a new president he unironically tweeted about getting chills I would be the first to laugh at him.

If Bolsanaro resigned tomorrow to be replaced by a Biden type, how would Greenwald feel?

Keed is a troll on an internet forum that can/should be ignored. He lives off the oxygen of responses.

GG is a troll with actual influence who causes actual harm in real life. The world has yet to find a cure for GG.

What actual harm has Greenwald caused? And what cure are you suggesting to rid the world of the scourge of Greenwald?

This is so weak. Fuck off.

Why do people care what GG has to say about anything? Asked with complete sincerity.

Just to expand, the Times’ neutrality standard, where their straight news reporters are expected to keep their political views private and adopt a posture of neutrality, obviously doesn’t apply to Greenwald, who has obviously always been outspoken about his political beliefs. But the tweet in question would be embarrassing even if it was from someone like Greenwald, who isn’t expected to be neutral. But he should be objective and skeptical of any incoming president. Just like Chris Matthews saying that a thrill went up his leg when he heard Obama speak was an embarrassment even though Matthews was an opinion journalist.

Bullshit.

It’s just another stick that conservatives use to discredit news that doesn’t suit them. If judges can be impartial in the courtroom there is no reason to think that a journalist can’t report the news impartially and still have their own opinions. It’s lazy thinking to discredit an idea because of who wrote it down and happens to be the number 1 weapon of conservatives and conspiracy theorists.

It’s not my standard, it is the one that the NYT and most other newspapers and news organizations have used for decades. As long as you or I have been alive.
