What Happens in Vegas, Stays in Vegas. Except Threesomes.

Think I’m gonna book a M-F at Aria for the end of this month. $500 free play, $250 food and suite with no resort fees is pretty tempting for my vaccinated self. Probably will play some 5/5 PLO most days there with some multi play video poker, and go elsewhere to play a little blackjack. It’s a shame that everywhere on the strip outside the high limit area has gone to 6:5. Last time I played high limit at Aria I got annihilated for $15K in a matter of hours and it ruined my trip + made me retire from the game.

Never did a trip report on 2p2, but will probably make one here as I’ll be solo and I’m sure a lot of people are curious as to what Vegas is like right now.

Any new places I MUST eat at? Will probably try some of Chang’s new spots. Definitely trying Best Friend at Park and may do the vegan tasting menu at Sage.

ETA I guess I may try some weed too while I’m there? Been debating it since it passed medical here in OK. Trying recreational without having to get all the license stuff is probably a better idea.

Also Vegas is fucking weird sober. Last time I made a stop at Total Wine and picked up roughly $100 worth of non alch craft beer for the trip. Was one of my better ideas.

So if I’m reading your post right, you’re no-alcohol but weed curious? If so, I’d suggest trying it, but with restraint at first. Sounds like you know Vegas pretty well, but weed has the potential to make your experience a lot better or a lot worse, depending on how things go/where you get in your head.

i’ve been to holstein like 10 times, it usually good. last couple of times were meh

Yea I’m 4.5 years booze free. I smoked weed in college and it gave me bad paranoia after a while. I haven’t touched it in over a decade.

I’ll take the opposite approach and tell you to go hog wild (not really, especially if you are doing edibles. Take it slow and dont take more if you arent feeling anything. It hits hard, but often later than you expect)

If you like 5/5 PLO HH’s, mid stakes BJ and VP degening, and a focus on solo dining, you may be the target demo.

What’s your VP game of choice? How much study/practice do you so before a trip?

50-100 play double double bonus. Low stakes. Nothing too serious. I just play the optimal strat from wizard of odds iirc.

Double deck BJ mainly. One of the casinos in OK actually somehow has the GOAT BJ setup. Free bet with dealer stand soft 17 and 3:2 BJs. The free bet in Vegas is horrendous by comparison (H S17 6:5).

When I went 2 years ago the Linq was the only strip casino that wasn’t 6:5 and didn’t have a 00 (think bellagio and aria were 00 and 000 lol?) roulette wheel.

All strips casinos I went to last trip (2019) have 3:2 double deck and 6 deck, but only in high limit. Played $25 min double deck 3:2 at Harrah’s, then watched a buddy play high limit double deck at Caesar’s. Caesar’s high limit blackjack area is the coolest I’ve seen. Oversized chips. Custom cards. Cool set up.

Excuse me what??

That’s hilarious.

His fish and chips place in that promenade between Linq and flamingo is good

Been to Vegas 2x. First time was good but the 2nd time it sucked. I’ll probably never go back again. I’ll never forget seeing people walking around with racks of purple and orange chips (I think $500 each but not sure) while homeless people were begging for change 50 feet away. The most fun I had there was renting a convertible and driving to Death Valley.

I pretty much never go to Vegas unless there is something work-related. If I want to play poker (which is nearly the only thing I’d do at a casino), see shows, and eat at nice restaurants, then LA has it beat by a mile.
