I don’t hate Newsom as much as many people here do. People’s expectations are too high or something. I’m happy with that video.
We’re going to be in Santa Cruz this weekend for a college graduation and will be going to the No Kings Day protest there. Perhaps the whole microbet family will be there - though probably my m-i-l should hold back - Santa Cruz might get a little wild.

LAPD gonna LAPD.
Local PD’s in south LA county and northern OC have been surprisingly supportive. Even issuing alerts. my city issued a surprising statement that said “you have no obligation to answer your door or any quesfions, be safe, pay attention to alerts and look out for each other, we will not assist the feds” and a very similar message from surrounding pd’s. i hate cops a lot. but i have been very surprised at the response from local pd’s in the areas that are being raided. even santa ana police, which is a notoriously heavy handed pd at times, is saying basically “we agree with the protests.” its one of the historically strongest positioned sanctuary cities in the southland. everyone is filming everything and people are getting pissed. I’m astonished at some
of the barney fife style home depot raids ive seen, like, some of these are kind of surprisingly affluent areas full of white people that use that labor regularly. bunch of fat ass white pigs trying to chase on foot a bunch of brown people that actually work physically for a living. it isnt getting the response that i think they expected.

I’m not sure what’s LAPD. When I was there I saw a lot of Metro and Sheriff and if you see the military vehicle in that video there is the Sheriff’s Department.
Cops are cops and I’m not saying the LAPD is any better (though the LA County Sheriff’s dept has a much worse reputation now), but I’m wondering if Karen Bass is keeping the LAPD back - she has no authority over the Sheriffs or Metro.
One has to hope that, at some point, one of these cowards will turn on these psychos, who feast on opportunities like this, and the rest will follow.

Active duty military isn’t that Trumpy. They did (supposedly, this is just polling) favor Trump over Harris by a fair margin, but favored Biden over Trump in 2020. Active duty is nowhere near as authoritarian as either the police or older military veterans.
