Yea went pretty basic this time. The tofu was cooked perfectly.
Bricked
O?
Thats a fun show. I actually prefer Mystere because its the first I ever saw and prefer the humor in that one.
First Cirque show I’ve been to. Seen absinthe. I don’t go to many shows because I’m usually just grinding poker solo. I thought it was excellent.
Absinthe is great, Cirque is on another level though. I haven’t seen any of the Vegas shows but have seen a bunch of their touring big top shows. Have always heard the touring shows are way better than the Vegas ones, with the exception of O being excellent. Glad you enjoyed it. Definitely try to catch one of their big top shows next time they come to a city near you.
We’re going to Vegas for the first time for NYE, gf wanted to see Ka so we’ll be seeing it.
I’ve seen all the “cirque”shows. Most several times. Absinthe is the best by far imo.
It’s really good.
Ps. This is the one that killed a performer a few years ago.
What’s the deal with video poker? I hear people claiming it’s plus ev. Can this be true?
Absolutely. 10/7 Double Bonus (10 coin payout for a full house, 7 for a flush) is a common pay table that returns over 100%. There’s also a common full pay version of Deuces Wild — I played on one of these at Red Rock several years ago. You’ll never find them on the Strip in Vegas or in other big casinos, but they’re out there.
The reason casinos offer them is the same reason they continue to offer blackjack with good rules — you have to play perfectly at all times to gain that tiny edge, and hardly anyone can (and the casinos will just back off anyone who looks like they’re a pro). And the swings are massive because the edge depends upon hitting an average number of royal flushes.
There are some paytables that return over 100% with correct strategy. There are others that become positive when the progressive jackpot gets high enough. There are games that return over 99% and if you find the right promotion, you can increase your return to over 100%. Twenty years ago, there were video poker pros whose best years were over $1 million, but casinos have gotten smarter and tighter, so opportunities are fewer.
Also for the average person gambling in Vegas for fun, it’s the least -EV game you can play while getting free drinks and racking up points on your card. It’s also easy to have winning runs. Basically just need to hit a Royal or bonus 4oak.
Yea I just wanted to get some points on my card in the fastest way possible. And I enjoy it.
Common? Are there any 10/7 machines in vegas?
How much is one “spin” when playing 50 hands like that?
Had a friend in Vegas play video poker for a living for years.
Took an enormous bankroll playing quarters to fade the risk of ruin. Like $80k.
He also played on a VP team for quite awhile.
